Not saying there won't be tough games. At BYU will be tough. As will at ASU. Tech, maybe, but Dave's already beat Joey's a$s twice in 3 tries (by huge numbers). Then Tcu, biggest rivalry, always tough. UH maybe if they live up to the hype they're getting.

If I were betting real money I'd take the under 6.5. I'd love to see CDA prove us all wrong - maybe our new DC actually knows what he is doing, unlike his predecessor - but the odds would seem to be against it.

They beat us up so badly up front last year that it wouldn't have really mattered who was coaching.

Only way we have a realistic chance this year is if our front lines have improved dramatically and/or Auburn's have fallen off quite a bit.

In the portal era, I can't keep up with our itinerant linemen enough to really say, but that seems unlikely because I'm sure Auburn has been re stocking as well.

Agreed. He was one of a handful of good posters on there. I remember him mentioning shortly before the 2022 season that the team didn't look nearly as good as how they were being hyped, and it made a lot of people irritated. Turns out he was dead on

DJ Lagway (Baylor)

This is the one I was not expecting. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound signal caller transferred from Florida this offseason after a turbulent couple of years in Gainesville. It looked like his confidence was shot and his body may have been in even worse shape with really big durability concerns.

Despite that, Lagway has made quite an impression on scouts who have been through Baylor this offseason.

According to one area scout:

"No bull****, Lagway was the best quarterback I saw all August, and I saw all the top 6 in next year's class. I went in there ready to throw him in the trash. He is easily the best arm talent of anyone that I saw this offseason, and it's not close, to be honest. But then again, he was a 5-star for a reason. This offseason was the first one he's ever had, at least a full one. I was more impressed with how decisive and accurate he was. He just has never been available for a complete offseason, and he's beginning to turn heads."

A different scout said:

"The Lagway stuff was funny, because I kept passing scouts who kept saying how good he looked for like 2 weeks before I visited, and I'm like, yeah right. And they were my second to last visit. When I got there, it became apparent that they were telling the truth."

Talent has never been the issue for Lagway, but can he be consistently available, and can he be consistent as a decision-maker on the field? Those are the questions worth keeping a close eye on.

Oh boy. There it is. Winning is no longer the standard at Baylor. It's about "vibes" and "feelings". I'm sorry, I'm sure Doug is a nice guy, but I haven't seen anything from him to make me believe that he has any kind of plan for the program, and quotes like this don't help the narrative that he's a Linda puppet

Do you think something like 8-4 with a bowl win to push it to 9 could keep him? I think nine is the magic number, either by bowl win or regular season, eight and a loss in a bowl, we've seen this song and dance before. It would really be if you think he can keep rising at that point, but it's still a crapshoot at the end of the day, and I personally would can him if I were the AD at that point.
