Baylor football has announced which players will wear single digits for the 2026 season via a social media post inspired by the famous anime Dragon Ball Z.

Indiana transfer defensive lineman Hosea Wheeler will wear No. 0. His eligibility for the 2026 season is still up in the air, but if cleared, he should play a major role along Baylor’s defensive front after a productive season with the Hoosiers.

Quarterback DJ Lagway will stick with No. 2 as he enters the year as the centerpiece of Baylor’s offense and one of the most talented quarterbacks in the Big 12.

Wide receivers Dre’lon Miller (No. 1), Jadon Porter (No. 3), Louis Brown IV (No. 4) and Gavin Freeman (No. 6) also earned single-digit numbers, giving the Bears four receivers in the group.

Defensively, linebacker Travion Barnes will wear No. 5, cornerback Devon Jordan takes No. 7, and safety Jacob Redding gets No. 8. Kansas State transfer Ryan Davis rounds out the group at No. 9 as Baylor looks for more production off the edge in 2026.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Why would they give Wheeler a single digit if he wasn't eligible to play? Seems like great news that he's actually going to play.

I hope BU finds a friendly judge. Cannot shake the feeling Indiana let him go because they saw too much of a risk that he would be ruled ineligible because he has already played for 5 years.
