Probably done before, likely multiple times, but we're still in the summer doldrums and I'm bored so I've reviving this discussion. What 4 former Baylor football players would make your Mt. Rushmore? Doesn't matter recent player, long ago player, offense, defense, special teams, whatever. Just pick 4 (and only 4, no HM's, and no coaches please) to put on your Mt. Rushmore of former Baylor football players. Go!

Ok I guess I'm gonna have to break the ice. The choices are pretty clear to me; there's a handful of names that would be included if Rushmore had 6 or 8 or 10 spots, but this is Top 4 only.

I'd say Gary Baxter to that "almost" list. If it weren't for that freak accident at the end of the first half - he would have had a long productive career in the NFL. 8 INT in only 62 games. Loads of tackles (300 plus) out of the DB spot.

Interestingly both RG III and Mike Singletary seem to be unanimous selections regardless of who the other two are, and I would agree with that. I'd probably include James Francis in as #3 and want to put another offensive player in as the fourth, but picking that one gets tough.

Agree - which is why he's one of my four. IMO he at least deserved a trip to New York for the 2013 Heisman presentation and prolly would have had one if not for the subpar game and infamous "tackled" by the 10 yard line enroute to a TD play against OSU when the national spotlight was on him for that game. Anyway he's my 2nd favorite all time BU QB only exceeded by RGIII.

Douglas had a good career at Baylor. Ran for almost 3,000 yards, was all SWC at least once.
