Platte City (MO) Iowa Western C.C. offensive lineman Muyonta Maxwell‍ has committed to Baylor.

The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder took his official visit to Baylor back in early May.

He is a full qualifier with three years of eligbility remaining, meaning I expect him to be able to enroll this Fall but still waiting on confirmation.

Maxwell holds offers from Western Michigan, Ball State and Old Dominion.

He is the composite No. 16 overall JUCO prospect in the nation, per 247 Sports.

JUCO? Now we're desperate. But hopefully a Diamond in the rough that others looked over.

I think this is a promising pickup. My sense is that the coaching staff believes Muyonta has strong upside potential. Look at pictures of him, he's got great size.

Additionally, Iowa Western CC won multiple National Championships at the JUCO level over the past few years, including 2025.

This pickup is for 2026? Are we really trying to backfill the roster for a season that starts this month?

Honestly, that's terrifying.

Surely this is the result of staff concluding Yakiri Walker will likely be ineligible and the best we can do in the circumstances

He's so amazing that we literally beat out Western Michigan for him (probably where Dave will be working next year. As a consultant). on paper, this offensive line depth is as bad as I can remember

Part of me wishes we could just hit the fast-forward button on this season and get to the part where Dave gets fired

Dave ain't getting fired. He's about to go 4-8 and get a contract extension. This is Baylor football going forward. Keeping Dave because he's nice is more important than fielding competent football teams

Believe me, the apathy has set in for me, but I still have moments of hope every now and then
