Then why aren't these hoodie wearing losers pulling the hood up over their noggins?

Go ask them. Be sure to ask exactly as you worded it here.

Again, fashions change. You may not like it but I am sure there were lots of old dudes sitting around complaining about the fashion you guys wore. OR the fact that you wore leather helmets when real men didn't wear helmets to play football. Or do the crazy forward pass thing. (yes I know you are not that old to be in that last category but it is to make a point). The old generation always thinks the new way of doing things, playing football, clothes, shoes, music, etc. is weird looking, stupid, etc.

Get over it.

I never bought into it so there is nothing for me to get over. I don't need to ask them. Fashion victims. All of them. Most likely a number of you.

Coaches have always been known to be fashion victims. They have no dress sense. It is yet another feeble attempt to "connect" with the young players and in so trying they become a pitiful example of trying too hard. Particularly with that one specific group that started the trend.

lol. Fashion victims? Ok boomer. Those shirts are all over the place. Everyone wears them. You just can't admit that time has passed you by, like the San Jose state offense, and you are left living in the past.

Wrong.

It's like "old money". You can't fake true class. True style never goes out.

Not everyone is wearing your hoodie. Just men who are always a step or multiple years behind.

But, it looks good on the Aggie coach.

LOL. Sure boomer.

Style does go out. That is why fashion has changed for hundreds of years and you do not see people still dressing like they did 100 years ago. Or further back.

No one wears a hat with a suit.

Suits that are worn are a different style and have changed over the years. As much as you hate it style does change. NO matter how much you want to "claim" you are right society proves you wrong.

Society spirals downward. Class never goes out of style. Class starts with putting down the fork. He's getting paid $Millions. Wear a sharp pullover 1/4 zip at least. Don't look like a guy on Saturday morning cleaning out his garage. Same goes for Baylor coaches. Klan and Spav need to spruce up a bit too. Look like a HC for goodness sake.

LOL. Ok. So a pullover jacket (often made of the same material) is "Class" but put a hood on it and suddenly it is not class????

Yeah ok.

You got it

Brooks Brothers
Since 1818

100% pinpoint Oxford cloth shirts (starched)
silk tie
cuffed pants
braces
cap toe Oxford shoes

Never has gone out of style

Never will

Sure. I see a lot of people wearing that daily.... oh wait we don't because it went out of style.

I suspect where you make a living or the people you hang around with are better suited in skinny legged polyester, blended shirts, clip on ties, Florsheim shoes, etc.

Black shirt with a black tie, clip on suspenders and no socks is not a good look. Maybe a tight fitting blazer, breastplate tie?

No where I work people dress professionally.

But even that has changed. 50 years ago it meant a full suit. in the 90s and early 2000s it was a shirt and tie. Then it went to polos and button up shirts.

I would be willing to bet that most companies dress policies are drastically different than they were in the 50s or 60s or even the 90s.

It doesn't mean they are less professional, just that styles have changed and business policies have changed. Like many of the modern fortune 500 that have embraced more casual dress or remote work. It is the old people clinging to the past that still force strict dress code requirements or in office work even after 6 years of seeing that remote work can and does succeed in many cases. The companies that require in office work for jobs that can be done remote tend to have older CEOs, owners, etc.

I hear you and agree with a lot of what you have said.

I just happen to believe 40, 50 and 60 year old major college football coaches look silly when wearing long sleeve hoodies, t-shirt hoodies, any hoodie. It's 90 to 95 degrees and these yahoos are still wearing them?

I know I am not supposed to talk about days gone by but I distinctly recall the season that David Shellenberger's in Waco sponsored Grant's wardrobe for his Grant Teaff Show in 1980. The change in GT's dress was the talk of the town. Huge difference.

Clothes make the man. Hoodies are NOT manly!

You should give those shirts a try for real.

I have a bunch of shirts with that material for working in the yard, or any outdoor activity really in the heat, and they keep you cooler. It is the same material that many construction workers now wear (just theirs is in the high vis yellow) and long sleeve. I don't have many with hoods as generally I don't like hoods as I feel they don't stay on, feel weird, and don't warm you they way a good ski cap/toboggan or skull cap does. But for working in the yard in 100 degree weather those dri-fit type shirts really are good. Especially the ones that help the sweat to evaporate faster like this one brand I have (artic Cool).

Truth. Of course styles change, and dress codes are more relaxed now, but when you are at work, away from home, whatever it is, sloppy is Never in style nor respected by the majority of successful people. Also, it helps if a coach is not obese.

I own a number of long sleeve t's and dri-fit t's. They work. I just refuse to strap on a gang-banger hoodie.

Many items are designed for specific purposes. As one who enjoys a sport that puts you in the heat for extended time I absolutely love them. Years past, due to the heat, forced to wear t-shirts because of the heat with sun screen slathered on, fighting eyes watering and stinging when sun screen sweat hits them and fight sun burned arms, I'll wear whatever avoids that. And I'm waaay past 40, 50, 60. If it's not for you fine.

Design, purpose, comfort, result CHECK!

Being older and preferring BB coaches in suit & ties, yet I understand the sideline fashion of many staffs, Drew & company. Why b***** about it. Things change.
One's myopic view to determine Manly is literally beyond funny.
