Did Lagway Aggravate His Injury?

Coaches need to see players a flesh and blood humans who are all one play away from a season ending injury. Absolutely no excuse for his being in the game, and no excuse for risking the season for a TD we don't need.

Coaches are fanatics about practice and getting their starters reps, and reps are better against live conference competition, than against your own team in practice. I get that you don't want to risk an injury to a player, but starters are often in games long after the game would appear statistically over in both college and NFL football. Some coaches keep starters in longer than others, and I'm sure they have their reasons.

I get that y'all don't like Aranda, but I'm sure they have professionals evaluating Lagway's ankle. This was probably Lagway's first game of the season where he was able to perform at close to full speed, and I wouldn't be surprised if the coach simply wanted him to have more reps in that condition. Who knows… may also want to get his confidence up.

With respect, and I know you know this, but since this season totally rides on DJ being healthy, to risk it unnecessarily just seems like coaching malpractice.

The fact that he got more playing time in this new offense (for him) without getting injured likely makes this a better team now than it would've been. It's not like Lagway has been here two years and knows the offense in and out. If so, I agree there would be no reason for him to be in the game at that point. Sure it's a roll of the dice, but he risks injury every play that he's in the game. I'm not saying I would've kept him in, but I don't know all of the facts and circumstances and reasons why Aranda made the decision.

That's cool. No harm no foul. Dj should be improving weekly. Sic'em.

DJ is injury prone. He didn't look great getting up from the TD. TCU knows they need to knock him out of the game to win, and they'll be rushing hard.
Expect at least one INT and maybe a QB fumble against TCU. That's Dj's history . Their D is equal to or better than Baylor's, but BU's O is better. Close game coming up.

DJ has never played against TCU! He has no history against them!

High ankle sprains are nagging injuries.

The pain is terrible the first 5 to 6 werks. Thereafter, there is tighteness in tbe ligaments that gradually goes away over time.
