Maybe they aren't overpaid like former assistants who were graduate assistants at Tarleton State before strangely getting the WR coaching job at Baylor. I suspect that was a handout to a friend. It is pretty uncommon for guys who haven't distinguished themselves at the D2 to become D1 Power 5 assistants.
