This is fun. Sicthe12 just continues to show his ass. Just like predicted.

How many head coaches with P5 coaching experience are getting fired this year?
I like how you try to move the goal posts the second your claim blows up in your face.SicThe12 said:Rhule was an assistant DL coach, that's basically being a GA.Bona Fide Bear said:
Rhule was the DL coach at UCLA.
And other than 2 years as RB coach at Tech, Briles didn't bring any significant P5 coaching experience. Did he work out ok (other than the whole program management issues)?
And you can't make a point saying "other than two years" By that logic other than two years, Rhule has never had a winning season.
See how that works?

It's an honest question. Rhule has never been a position coach, OC/DC, HC at a P5 school. That is NOT the norm when you look at the resumes of successful P5 coaches. Matt Campbell comes to mind but to call him successful at this stage is premature.
Anyone?
Unless you count his Grad assistant time at Ohio State.
He also had some years at Notre Dame
But then he was head coach at Bowling Green, Utah (before they were pac 12) and his first P5 job was Florida

The OP has fled this topic. There was an in your face mods thread yesterday on Stidham. This thread is a convoluted attempt to be clever in slamming Rhule. He came out too strong in claiming that there are none that you knew he was painted into a corner.cowboycwr said:SicThe12 said:those 4 years at ND disqualify him. Then so does Rhule's time in the BCS conference.
While I don't like Rhule and I get the point of your post I think the rules have been so convoluted that your own claim is flawed and proven wrong.
I haven't fled you're telling me the AAC was a BCS school. Me and you have nothing left to discuss.NoBSU said:The OP has fled this topic. There was an in your face mods thread yesterday on Stidham. This is going outside this question, but guys that did serious time at MAC and other small conferences like Urban Meyer, Pinkel, etc. are an interesting topic. There are some others that did not work. The Iowa State coach, Matt Campbell, may be one that does. By comparison the longtime P5 assistant/coordinator path is an interesting contrast. One seems more blue collar where the other seems more blue blood.

I'm saying you're full of crap, a troll with tangential ties to the disgraced regime that will stop at nothing to inject farcical praise for Ian McCaw and Art Briles into threads whenever and however you can no matter what.Robemcdo said:MilliVanilli said:

Teaff ..disgraced pea? Seems a little harsh? You're saying he was in on it too?
I remember that thread. While playing the sport helps there are many coaches out there in many sports that never played past high school and are really good coaches. There are many who played Juco, division 3, 2 or 1AA (FCS) that are really good.Bona Fide Bear said:
I remember there was a thread on BF a few years ago trying to discredit Drew because he had never played college basketball. Whoever started that thread, said something very similar to this thread, something like "what coach has ever been successful without any CBB playing experience?" This was before Drew turned the program into a pretty good program and the poster was trying to discredit Drew's qualifications. I wish BF was still around so I could necropost that thread lol
