Two totally different coaching worlds.
Florida State knew the couldn't have a player on scholarship charged with Rape getting ready to "start". Unwritten rules and common sense. What could go wrong?
Also, Baylor did nothing to ad to televisions bottom line. FSU always schedule a big early season TV game.
No player or coach was bigger than the FSU program. This is why you don't see FSU fans acting like mental midgets because Aggie took their coach.
X,
FSU fans you aren't crying out to god because they were ready for Jimbo to go.
And FSU ' knows how to handle their issues. Baylor, not so much.
No charges. They were covered because of it. We chose to move forward because we needed Sam.
Did Sam start for us? Must have missed that...
He was sitting on scholarship for one a year because of transfer rules then sat because of his issues.
Bennett was telling everyone he was starting while forgetting to tell them he had his trial coming up. Common sense would tell a normal person with situational awareness that he might need to be done with the pending case.
He didn't start or play but how did it turn out?
The robe touchers tend to justify dumb decisions based on playing time.
Should have let him graduate or told him to transfer.
So, what you're saying is...he didn't start for us?
No, it does not matter. Do people get treated differently because they start or sit the bench?
So Sam sat on the bench? Never did as I recall
Stood on the sideline, danced in a mask, doesn't matter, still in school....he was on scholarship taking up space...put it however you want to put it...very irrelevant other than zero situational awareness. Most schools would have moved on and recruited someone else. Bennett was telling everyone he was important and would be starting. Brilliant move on his part to not disclose why he had been sitting for two full seasons?
Just think if they would have come out and said "yes, he is charge with rape but our Title IX cleared him and federal law...." worked better than "oh ****, we screwed up," then Starr brings in PH to find out what happen.
Tennessee just basically threw it all out in the open and said they were too stupid to get it.
Rex, we understand. Briles wanted it and he can do no wrong. He got what he wanted. It bit him in the ass.
