I agree with you there Gus - OU winning would do a lot.

So would Texas looking like a real blue blood rather than a historic blue blood. The National perception is better with a top 10 Texas & OU.

On a side note - really hard for me not to enjoy a little Texas fail time to time.
Some Baylor fans think it's better for Baylor to lose to Texas

I don't think those people really qualify as fans, just pretenders. Someone actually articulated that opinion to you?

Teams will be chosen in realignment for $$ reasons, nothing more. If a financial blue-blood is not winning, it will still make the cut.

Once the exclusive club is set, some of those teams will have to lose, it's just math. Everyone can't be 11-2 in an exclusive league of blue-bloods. But they can still bring in TV $$.

If pac 12 dissolves we should poach at least one, possibly two, schools. USC and Stanford?

Please show me a single person on this board that has stated that it would be a good thing for us to lose to Texas.

I'm referencing many previous threads where I've seen Baylor fans lament that Texas isn't winning like a blue blood. I've seen people say that Baylor beating Texas makes them look weak and thus the conference weak as a whole (this was on BaylorFans). So a conference with Baylor on top is therefore a weak conference. I just don't agree with the proposition that Texas must win or the Big XII sucks. I root for Baylor, not Texas.

But I'd root for them head to head vs another conference team any time.

This is easy to say, but, if the PAC12 ever dissolved, what would prevent the Big 12 from dissolving itself, or, what would be worse, not signing a new contract and forming a new conference with the best programs from each conference?

The Big 12 only needs 8 votes to dissolve, so, if it wanted to form a 16 team "super conference" with the PAC 12 with 8 teams from each of the membership of the former conferences, things could get bad for Baylor very quickly since we all know Baylor wouldn't be picked up. If the Big 12 did not dissolve its conference and just allowed it to expire, the best teams could take less than 8 programs with them to form the new conference.

This is the predicament we are left with due to our university's strategy to sniff Texas' ass and take what comes from it. Had we been positioning for the last decade and taken advantage of the greatest period in Baylor football history, we might have options.

But when you sniff ass for strategy and then you hire coaches that can't beat Liberty...it leaves a stink.

If you don't believe me ask Marco.

It was the XII's strategy to sniff Texas' ass. However Baylor should have been making moves during the big money hey days to set up a good potential landing spot if all went bad.

That all said someone posted I believe earlier in this thread we had P5s seeking XII membership very recently. Perhaps the XII actually has a very secret expansion plan/deal ready to be announced when GORs and TV deals expire for those school's conferences. That would be uncharacteristic for the XII conference based on its past behavior regarding these types of issues since its founding, but perhaps the conference will surprise.

Was it big xii strategy for us to lose to liberty?

Really not sure why you are asking me that. You must have me confused with someone else. I'm very far from being one of the defenders/excuse makers of last season's performance here.

Let's say the Big 12 added BYU and Arizona. Do we know would suffer for that?

Yes - in terms of recruiting, the whole conference but Texas and Oklahoma since BYU would then primarily recruit TX outside of Mormons in general.
