He'll break in the nfl. Skinny, little running qb's in the NFL don't seem to last too long.

Because the guaranteed $$ of being an NFL first round pick is about 4-6x his current guaranteed $$.

Because he could be a career back up in the NFL for 15 years and rake about $60-70mm.

Because it's so much harder to make the show in Baseball, and he could theoretically not make it and never make what his first NFL guaranteed contract would have paid him.


Not many guys a career backup qbs for 15 years. Or even 10.

But there are lots of outfielders making 6-10 million per year as journeymen

To me....im more worried about his getting twisted backwards on a tackle and tearing an ACL or something

His mobility is a huge part of his game

Losing his mobility would basically end his football career as it so often does for guys that bring that to the game

FWIW....Kyler officially measured at 5' 10" and 207 pounds today. Stature comparable to Russell Wilson....who also coincidentally was drafted by a MLB team
