DENTON, Texas Another home-and-home series has been set for Baylor's future schedule.
The Bears will play a home-and-home with the University of North Texas in 2028 and 2029, UNT's athletic department announced Monday.

The Mean Green will travel to play at McLane Stadium on Sept. 2, 2028, while the Bears will head to Apogee Stadium on Sept. 1, 2029.

These programs have met 12 times, dating back to 1920, with an 11-1 advantage for Baylor. The most recent meeting came in 2004 at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, a 37-14 Baylor win.

LOL!

North Texas vs. BU in the Briles era = Cupcake

North Texas vs. BU in the Rhule era = Conference USA Powerhouse

Even Kevin Steele was able to beat the Mean Green.

The embarrassing part is the home and home. The big boys play cupcakes. They just don't play them on the road.

In 2028, the week after the UNT game, Baylor has a road game at Oregon. That's a P5 team in the Pac 12. I'm OK with it so long as the 2029 season includes a P5 opponent--as required by Big 12 rules now.

https://fbschedules.com/ncaa/baylor/

I do not mind Baylor playing the occasional creampuff like every other P5 team. Heck, the SEC teams play 3 every season including one in November when we are usually playing some of the toughest teams in our conference. If you don't believe me, check out ALL of their schedules for mid-November.

Bama has not announced their cupcakes that far in advance but they play UT Martin in the second weekend of 2019 & 2020. In 2021, they play New Mexico State & in 2022 it is ULM--the team everyone complained about Baylor playing in 2013. All of these games are in Tuscaloosa. That's right, mighty Bama (& other SEC teams) are afraid to go on the road for non-conference games in November against creampuffs.

https://fbschedules.com/ncaa/alabama/

The Texas Aggies have a great ooc schedule for 2020: Abilene Christian, UNT, & Colorado in September and Fresno State in October (they must have not gotten the memo to schedule a creampuff in November). I'm sure everyone whining about Baylor's schedule are complaining just as much about the Aggies 2020 schedule.

Yes. You don't make this deal. You play them at McLane only. In fact with the exception of 2 or 3 American Conference schools, you only do home and homes with P5s.

2 of those teams are very good, the other two are worse than UT.

We seem to be willing to give a road game to other Texas schools (except UH), if for no other reason than to give some exposure around the state. SMU in 2015, UTSA 2018, Rice in 2016 and 2019, and Texas St in 2021 or 2022. It would have been a better deal for a 2 for 1 (like we have w UTSA), but at least NT has a better stadium than the crap hole they used to have.
