Solid noticeable improvement on DEFENSE

This is a MUST imo...cant keep running a unit in the field that gets gashed for 50 plus yarders 5 6 times a game...

Denzel returns to form and has 1100 with 8 plus TDs

Platt gets 800 yards plus 8 TDs

1000 yard rusher...

8 or 9 wins plus a bowl game

We lost to LIBERTY and UTSA two years ago. We went .500 last year. It's still difficult for me to have very high expectations for this staff.

Then you haven't been paying attention and are hanging onto a bad loss now about 3 years later.
8-17 after two seasons. Two of the wins are against Kansas.

I am not quite ready to put us back into the world-beater category just yet either.

Who says we are? It took Briles until his 4th season to get a bowl win. He got naked bootlegged in the first bowl he got to with Baylor.

We're not world beaters yet and have a lot to prove, but the progress is there.
Briles inherited a team that was in the septic tank of Hell and had zero talent. Rhule inherited a team that was 7-6 coming off of a bowl win and that had a figurehead head coach. With all due respect, totally different circumstances.

That being said, I hope Rhule gets this thing turned around again. We shall see.

They were different, and had similarities. CMR inherited a team with a full class of defections, transfers, and no O-line on the heels of a festering scandal. It has been broken down by those on here that the 2017 team was a major rebuild, especially with the O-line.

Because I see the reality of the situation instead of taking snide and non-factual hot takes against the program?

The team is far from perfect, but a lot of the negativity it unwarranted, especially after a season that showed growth and progress and a bowl win.

1-11, to 7-6 and a bowl win. If that isn't a step in the right direction, I dunno what is. What needs work is obviously the defense as I believe the offense found itself during the Tech and Texas Bowl games. Hopefully the new defensive base scheme works to our advantage.

Let's see if defense has improved if not, were duking it out with Kansas in the bottom.

Bad defense last year got us to 6-6 and mid-pack Big 12. Yes, it really needs to show some improvement to have a more successful season than last, but we are far from KU bad.

4 gimmies (first three, KU)
3 shouldas (WVU, KSU, Tech)
2 not gonna happen (OU, TX)
3 toss ups (ISU, OSU, TCU)

Range: Hi: 10-2; Lo: 6-6
Expectation: 8 wins, including win at TC Who?

This analysis is shaped by the first of what will be several Dr. Pepper and bourbons. It is pretty tasty

No more than 4 scores over 60 yards in the season

No more than 2 scores in less than 2 minutes on the clock for the season

No more averaging more than 45 points per game on the season

No more average winning score of 20 or more points per game.

No more 61-58 thrillers

Keeping the streak against OU, UT, and TCU alive, going into season from 0-12 to ending season at 0-15 against these three schools.

No more putting in third or fourth string in at end of third quarter.

Apparently you have come to the reality that our coach is now little Matty

Just being honest to the premise set out in the original post. He is now 8-17 for his record, which much of the first year losses were on him for the way he game planned. I haven't really seen enough out of him to say we will ever be back to 10-2 at end of season before bowls.

Blame the no O-line problem on the Oklahoma drill. He came in wanting to run players off so he could show how great he is by rebuilding with "his" guys. I don't take his bull that there was no talent at Baylor when he got here. I think his scholarship count ended the first season somewhere in the 60's.

I still haven't seen road graders like we used to see up front.

Nope. Brian has gone over that that wasn't even the case and that is mostly a myth played up by those who want to criticize how CMR is doing things. But keep holding onto it I guess.

Because what he thought he had either retired or had medical issues. This season should show, as he has stated in interviews, that he finally has the size and depth that he needs to protect Charlie and open up run lanes.

We're aware of who and what you are.
So predicting a winning season and a bowl win is not a good thing? You should check in with your bosses and get back to me.

Thanks.
We're all aware of who and what you are. The fact you think the BOR cares about an insignificant internet dick such as yourself is hilarious.

This is what happens when you manage to alienate a community by being an unprovoked dick for four years, everyone knows your boring schtick.

Expecting NCAA to announce sanctions 2 weeks before the start of season with a postseason ban and loss of scholarships. This leads to an unexpected setback in the Rhule rebuild, maybe 6 or 7 wins. I am not sold on this staff and the defense the last 2 years makes CPB look good.

Ashley has said don't expect any major setbacks from the NCAA. We shall see.
