Please explain how a four year extension is a poor business decision.

He has gone 1-11 and 6-6 in his first 2 seasons. And walloped the worst team in the SEC in a bowl game by just barely.

Extension?

Sure. Before Alabama comes after him.

You are so pathetic. Are you even a Baylor fan anymore?

Why don't you and Timbear go have a steaming glass of butthurt coffee and a sausage and ignorance kolache this morning?

If you can't see the incredible transformation this team has gone through in such a shockingly short amount of time, then I doubt there's anything anyone can say to help you understand how wrong you are.

Go watch a replay of Rice game and see how unprepared we were.

And he has yet to have a winning season.

If he ends up winning 7 or 8 games this year, consider extending then. Not now.

Uhh ... We were 7-6 last year. Diehard, huh?

I gave you a pass on the literally factually incorrect "worst team in the SEC" comment, but you're yet again making things up or just ignoring facts.

He has yet to have a regular season winning record.

I attend more Baylor athletic events than anybody on this board more than likely. Yes. I'm a diehard.

Im not saying he's going to replicate his ridiculous Temple success here (although he's doing exactly that so far), but if we wait until December, after he's won 10 games, its way too late.

Of all the criticisms a knowledgeable football fan could make about the Rice game, the team being "unprepared" would not even make the list.

So since you're such an expert, let's put your knowledge to the test: what is your explanation for the anemic offensive output in the second half of the Rice game?

I can hardly wait to see your answer.

Same time that the Rutgers head coach got fired. Maybe the board was afraid he would go rebuild Rutgers back in Jersey

Seems premature. I think ISU was our first win against a team with a winning record.

When you throw to a receiver, you throw it to where he's going, not where he is.

Best analogy

Well said.

If someone had told me on Memorial Day weekend 2016 that by 2019 we would be here at 4-0 trending up in defense and working through some great OOC scheduling, and extending a new coaches contract it sure would have saved me a ton on heartache. My how the roller coaster has gone the past 5 years.

Happy day

He/we were 7-6 last year. You then repeated your falsehood again as if the more you say something objectively wrong it becomes truth.

Back in the bearscoop days, I used to enjoy your takes regardless if I agreed with them or not. Now, nothing personal, you come off as a bitter curmudgeon who took a wrong side of history take and is too prideful to admit you were wrong (we all have bad takes). One of the farthest falls from respectability I have seen in 20 years of BU message board posting. Hope in real life all is well, sir.

Nobody has a problem with a different opinion.

The problem is when your attempts at justifying your opinion are objectively wrong. You have stated factually incorrect things on this thread multiple times.

Then, predictably, the old "take my ball and go home" tactic...

I'm not avoiding anything. Don't like being called names. Uncalled for.

We had 70 yards offense in second half. Poor game plan? Poor play calling? Lack emotion, readiness by players? Or something else. Don't know. I do know having team ready is responsibly of Rule. He admitted it post game.

That's it

So your answer to my question is "I don't know."

I rest my case.

I hope our coach takes to the playoffs. I'd be thrilled.

Just don't think he had shown us a 10 year worth contract yet. That's it.

So the quote was "Rhule's contract will be finalized at the next Board of Regents meeting on November 1st.". Does this mean that we have a valid contract or is this an agreement in principle?

The fact you have no clue how much money is involved and yet came to this conclusion tells me, you are bad businessman and wouldn't know a good decision if it was right in front of you.

And, just so you know this is not personal, ANYONE making claims that this is either good or bad business when they don't have the details is foolish. All of us can say we like the he is locked up or don't like it and all for coaching reasons. But none of us know how the business side of this looks without the details.

Sorry I said that you were drunk. Your post was so awful, that it is was a hanging curve ball I could not resist. There is more to extending Rhule's contract than W/L right now. You have to look at the big picture.

Likely means it has been agreed to and probably even signed by the parties, but has to be officially voted on at the BOR meeting to become fully inked. Basically it's done except for the formality.

And if he's right, you'll eat a pair of mack's underwear while most of Baylor will be ecstatic and enjoy the benefits?
