Slightly terrified after reading all of the comments about how horrible TCU fans are. We've never been to an away game, but my two boys and I have tickets for tomorrow. Is it worth subjecting them (and myself) to their disgusting and inappropriate fans? My die-hard Baylor fan friends who live in Fort Worth aren't even going because of the abuse they've suffered at games the past several years. We live an hour away and would love to go support the team, but ugh ... (I'm the mom FYI ...)

There's always bad fans and good fans wherever you go for any team.

As the dad it's your call; if your seats are in the visitor section surrounded by BU fans you shouldn't have any issues. My vote would be to go --- with a positive attitude, support the Bears, and have some fun with your sons.

They are harmless. We went to the frozen monsoon game a few years ago and those who ran their mouth were all the 5'6, 120 lbs with five friends behind them types. We just laughed at them.

Have a great time with your kids

I believe Thee calls them concave chest, thin neck, limp wristers so go and enjoy the game.

Well I'm the mom, not the dad. My husband refuses to give TCU any of his money.

"Slightly terrified"? Geez, don't go then. Odds are all your kids will be exposed to is numerous "F*** You Baylor" chants. If you feel like the TCU punks are crossing the line, punch the first one right in the nose. That will shut them up quickly and your kids will have a great story to share with their friends. Oh, and make sure you have someone to drive your kids home if you go to jail.

EDIT: Just saw the mom part...my comment doesn't change any really, but I'll add you should tell your kids to bring home your purse when you get hauled off by the cops.

Hopefully the team shuts them down pretty early.

I am a wimp. I'm a mom who doesn't want her kids to be harassed at a football game. We will go, but I'm dreading their fans.

I'm a 30-something mom. Yes I'm being dramatic. If my husband were going, he could possibly end up in jail, which is a reason he isn't.

You'll be fine, and the good news is your kids will never consider going to college at TCU after the game. Have fun and report back when you bond out...I'm curious to see how it all goes.

Wear something showing some cleavage, shuts every man up, every time.

Not true. Some men, especially closeted TCU fans, prefer a nice buldge.

This is why I don't pay for the premium side. I mean, if I payed, would the advice get any better? NO!

I was at TCU in 2015. I had no problems with the TCU fans that day but it might be because the weather was so miserable we were all equally miserable.

The weather was better and so was TCU in 2010, so here's Exhibit A on how they got their reputation:

I had a glass bottle thrown at me in 2007. I think their behavior has been improved the past few years though because Briles (who Patterson told them to hate) is gone and Baylor has been bad-mediocre and they have not been the same team as they we were in 2014. Neither team is challenging for a national title either.

Don't get me wrong though, this is still a big game for them and we are their biggest rival.

When your team wins by 40+ and you still feel the need to heckle college kids from behind a barricade, you obviously have the world's tiniest pen1s.

Like almost any P5 school you want to name, TCU has some nutty and some obnoxious fans here and there and yes, they hate Baylor, but on the whole their fanbase is pretty average by comparison to most places. I've been to games at Collie Station back when we were annually playing the aggys and IMO TCU fans don't hold a candle by comparison.

Yep, most aggy fans are *******s when you get 3 or more of them together. And they're proud of it.

By far the worst in the conference, and IMO, border Aggy on the national level (now, as with any fan base, there are exceptions, just few of them).
Mitch Henessey
How long do you want to ignore this user?
TCU fans are generally harmless. They just have the world's largest inferiority complex. In that way they're much like Aggy, without the brainwashing.

Fortunately for them, they found the perfect head football coach, a man who is the walking (maybe rolling) embodiment of inferiority complex.

Remind them that they are a godless people and that eternity will be a miserable burning lake of fire because they know not Christ. Then watch their heads explode.

Although it would have been poetic justice if an SMU fan had stood above the TCU tunnel after the game this year saying "good job Big 12" as the team walked off.

My brother, his wife and my nephew are purple to the bone. We do some mild trash talk bantering, but among us it's mostly harmless.

I've seen more TCU fans "cross the line" than practically any other fan base we come across. They truly hate Baylor, and they can get really nasty.

That said, 98% of fans you come across will be perfectly nice and friendly. You have nothing to worry about as long as you are respectful.

All 5 of them are terrible. But your sons can take them as they arent very tuff.

Alternatively have some jellybeans in your pocket and just toss them around. The tcu fans will scatter chasing them.
