Baylor LB Terrel Bernard announces return for 2021 season
Baylor football received more positive news on Friday afternoon when star linebacker Terrel Bernard (6-1, 222) announced via a Twitter video that he would be returning for the 2021 football season.
Bernard, a redshirt junior, appeared to be on his way to an All-American campaign in 2020 prior to a shoulder injury against Iowa State in Baylor’s fifth game of the season that sidelined him for the season after surgery.
The unfortunate injury was likely a key component to Bernard’s decision to return for at least one more season.
Part of Baylor’s 2017 recruiting class, Bernard has registered 214 career tackles with 19.0 tackles for loss and 9.0 sacks. Additionally, Bernard has picked off three passes and forced three fumbles in his career.
Bernard has started 18 career games and played in a total of 30.
The news of Bernard’s return comes a day after SicEm365’s report that running back Trestan Ebner would return for an additional year of eligibity in 2021 that was granted by the NCAA due to COVID-19. Likewise, offensive lineman Xavier Newman also made the announcement that he would return in 2021.
