The wide zone, unlike the inside zone, is generally a longer developing series of plays because it runs wide, and Always inexplicably to the short side where it's more easily defended. The hope is that Grimes can call plays to take advantage of the opposing D's tendencies. I don't believe that even one conference Champion in 2022 ran the ball 2/3 of the time as Aranda wants to do, but Grimes could use play action with great success. At Baylor, it will never be a Top 5 O, but if Aranda can develop a great D, like the one he inherited, it won't have to be for Baylor to have winning seasons.
