But Terry Black's is coming soon. Should be another solid option

Hey Jason, I've private messaged you many times asking if we can have polls in the Waco forum for this exact type of question but have had no response from you.
Any chance we can get polls for best restaurants on the Waco forum? Maybe pin a few to the top?
Guess and Helberg are Texas Monthly top 50BaylorGuy314 said:
Herbergs and Guess are my go-to places. Both do it the right way and are extremely solid. Helberg was rated in Top 50 BBQ joints in Texas Monthly recently.
Edit: I still go to Rudy's a lot. They have a great smoked turkey breast thats hard to beat. But if I'm going brisket, its helbergs or guess.

Terry Blacks will be a nice addition and the best atmosphere out of the soon-to-be Big 3. That beef rib is so damn good, but be prepared to drop some coin. It's a bit of an honor that they're opening in Waco, as they only have three other locations.
That said, I really like both Helberg and Guess already. They raised the profile for Waco 'Cue so much.

Just like the Basin Climbing Gym in Hewitt that was supposed to open in September, no progress has happened as far as I can tell. As is Waco tradition it'll probably never come.

That is a great idea
Send that info over to Brian Colt or Ashley and pay it in here. https://sicem365.com/forums/8
Anytime you have ideas like that do what I listed above.

I saw some thing saying Helberg on Franklin but they gave barnette's address? Are they collaborating or just giving them old stuff like what they did with nightline? I don't think their new smoker does as good of a job. Last couple times I've been it has lacked some of the flavor.
I don't live in Waco and when I'm in town don't go downtown a lot but has Barnetts always had a patio? I've only heen Mayne twice and has been 2 years since my last visit. Don't remember there being a patioIllinois Bear said:Grimm said:

thanks. Figured that's what happened. Hopefully the food truck addition helps bring more traffic to them. Need anything in downtown Waco to thrive. More that thrives, more that wants to come in and make downtown better.Grimm said:
They got rid of the parking lot next door and put some stuff in... I don't go over there that much but it hasn't looked all that busy the few times we have passed by.
Yep. They're hoping November now. THey were supposed to be done by February this year. The lag time on inspections and what not is horrific right now.1outawayBear said:shortys has been working on the new facility off hewitt dr for like 3 years now it seems. crazyBaylorHistory said:1outawayBear said:Original announcement about TBs last year said completion in July 2023.Big12Bear said:

The well-known Texas barbecue restaurant, Terry Black’s BBQ, is set to open its fourth location Friday in downtown Waco, bringing its craft barbecue and homemade sides to the Central Texas area. https://t.co/qSR7eCIbbt
