I had the opportunity to play tonight for the first time and really enjoyed it, but had a hard time finding a place to play.

Does anyone know of any courts open to the public in or near Waco in addition to Waco Regional (with a guest fee), at Baylor next to Penland, and at Twin Rivers (if you know someone that lives there)?

I heard that First Baptist Woodway has some indoor courts, but we are not members there so I'm not sure how that works or if that's even correct.

Would appreciate suggestions if anyone knows of other options.

I think they have some at Whitehall Park in Woodway. They just renovated the whole park and I believe they added a couple of courts in.

I played for the first time a couple months ago and had a blast. You're seeing most cities and 'burbs convert a handful of existing tennis courts over and also do new-builds. If they haven't already, it's in the budget to do so soon.

Can't speak for Waco (Waco Tennis & Fitness has courts), but Cole Park in Uptown Dallas is packed with players every single day with people of all ages. Usually a short wait and then you rotate in.

I'd love to see Waco get a Chicken N Pickle or a Picklemall in the future.

I took the family to the Midway tennis courts adjacent to the track and drew the kitchen with sidewalk chalk.

It's not the best option, but it's better than nothing. The only drawbacks are the heat and the wind.

It won't be long before they'll be more options to play. Supposedly, on LaSalle (between like Health Camp and the food trucks I think) a guy's working on a place that will be called "LaSalle's". To include maybe 6 courts, (not sure about indoor, outdoor, covered?) a bar and restaurant.

I hope so.
