There was another thread started literally about a year ago by a poster who had a handle indicating he was in banking stating Cosco was coming to Waco and that the announcement was imminent at that time. Over the summer on that thread when it was revived with questions about the claim, the person who started the thread revised the claim to be that the announcement would be by the end of the year (2024).

On that same thread, I refuted the banker's claim because the banker clearly did NOT know what Costco was planning and was speaking more hopefully than fact based. While I would like Costco to arrive in Waco by 2027, placing one of their stores here would be uncharacteristic of their expansion plans. It's more likely one of their stores will arrive in the Temple/Belton area before being placed here.

I think Waco gets it before Temple/Belton. That one would be too close to the new Georgetown one to make much sense. I think it lands in Waco area before the end of the 35 construction is complete.

Or more likely Killeen. The Killeen portion of Bell County is the fastest growing area in Central Texas, even moreso than Bryan/ College Station. Killeen has already surpassed Waco's population by over 20,000 residents and Harker Heights and Copperas Cove each have over 30,000 residents now and are attached at the hip to Killeen.

Plus, Bell County has a higher per capita income than McLennan County, so that would make sense. You have a larger, younger population in Bell County with more money in their pockets and proximity to Austin distribution/ GTown location.
