Interesting they are selling beer and wine for Turnpike and CCR show at Mclane.

It's not Baylor putting it on. Therefore they can sell beer. Baylor still produces the football games, so no beer.

So when do they follow suit at the football games?
This whole you can drink while tailgating outside the stadium, or you can drink in a suite if you hid your alcohol ahead of time is peak Baptist performative stupidity.

Why do we even care? All they are going to serve is "sex in a boat beer" like Bud Light or Michelob Ultra for way too much. The chances of them selling good beer is next to nothing.

because allowing it equals more revenue and will attract more people. win win

you dont have to hide it in the suites ahead of time. you buy it and it is delivered to your suite based on your order that week. its not even a look the other way thing. we literally allow it to happen while telling the rest of us no. its so dumb.
but this concert is the biggest step towards it being sold at games. 1 step at a time!

Absolutely. Being able to have just something like a cold light American pilsner during a hot August or September (or October) game would be great. More people would come in, and fewer people would get hammered at tailgates because they wouldn't want to hit the game with a hard roll to last them for 3 hours.

When I went to the BU/TCU game in Ft Worth a few years back, this is exactly what they were encouraging. Getting people into the stadium early, featuring discounted prices on cold beer up until kickoff.

Waco Ale Co announced they will be selling a beer inside McLane brewed especially for this game.

yes baylor isnt producing it but they did give the ok to allow the sell. There have been concerts at foster, as well as other events in mclane at some time, that did not sell beer. Baylor has to allow it just like they allow it to be sold every day that isnt a fball gameday in the baylor club. it is on baylor property and baylor directly benefits financially from the sale. It is no different than the suites ordering their beer and liqour through the club and the club corp that runs the club pays baylor for the ability to do this.
The endzone suites added last season also have beer and seltzers during games which is included in ticket cost, something that is not advertised btw.
nice. Wish I was able to go and tailgate b4 handBiscuits_and_Gravy said:

The real problem is that the temperance movement became the abstinence movement. There are some reasons for that, but it certainly stretched way past the biblical example (or the Jesus example as you note). If you look back into the 1800s, there was a need to move toward temperance--the average alcohol consumption in the US was staggering, and that kind of consumption leads to problems.
Pushing for abstinence, though, meant misrepresenting the scripture and ignoring the fact that many people do understand how to control themselves.

Actually, it's not a "Baylor event." There is an outside production company -- Doussan Music Group -- that is producing the concert. They approached us and we are allowing use of McLane Stadium and our staff resources in a revenue-share arrangement.
Of course, we are helping sell tickets to the concert, as it's in our financial interests to do so.

Very good. Thanks for that. I guess I misunderstood what was told to me.

"Sort of apology" accepted for saying I was wrong.

Anybody know if you can walk from buzzard Billy's on the River Trail underneath the I-35 bridge over to McLane? Or does construction have that path torn up?
