An Influencer couple from Austin that do food and drink reviews were traveling to
Dallas and stopped here for lunch. Gave very positive reviews of the pizza saying it was some of the best they had eaten. Gets very good yelp reviews, have any of you eaten there?

The pizza is great. The beer is ok. There IPA 's are considered good (I don't like IPA's). The sours are good. The other stuff is so-so. My wife works close by, so I have been there numerous times.

Excellent pizza, atmosphere and very friendly staff.

It can def take a bit to get your food so don't go if you are in a hurry.

That Washington Ave part of downtown has gotten very cool.

The owners are really good people too. They recently opened in downtown Killeen and the pizza is fantastic. I also pickup spent grain from there to feed my cows and they love it too!

Great spot, food is good, nice place to hang out with kids out back. Walkable for us so it's a winner on the convenience front too.

Edit: worth the trip for the Baylor mural alone!

I would echo this comment exactly. They do have hefeweizen that I think is pretty good.

Fun place. The pizza was only ok the one time I had it.

The beer isn't bad but probably still ranks 4th or 5th in Waco brewerys for me.

I can pretty well agree with this. Good pizza, good atmosphere, decent ipa's, solid Irish red ale, the rest of their beer is somewhat meh as far as craft beer goes, but it's potable. Still a place in our secondary rotation though.

It's our go to place! We get the Gentleman's Duel and GF veggie. Son in law is gluten sensitive and his sister is celiac diagnosed and they both claim it's the best GF crust they've ever had.

Tried it last weekend to recover from the game. Loved the fresh ingredients of the pizza and crust and enjoyed the beer. I got the ALICO. Will go with a darker brew next time.

Their dark beers are solid. The IPAs are good. Everything else is no different than anything else. Worth a stop if you are in the area and thirsty.

I agree to disagree on the dark beers being solid, but that is what makes being a beer enthusiast great. We can disagree and respectfully talk sh*t about each other. I do need to try their new Doppelbock though. The few untapped reviews have been positive.

Yes. By solid, I meant I enjoyed them. I can get better at Maple Branch in FTW, but if I'm in Waco, I can get a good dark here. I may be in Waco Sunday, so I may have to stop in and try the Doppelbock.

I have to revise my review of Southern Roots. I went with a friend tonight due to Waco Ale being closed. I had the St James (English Brown Ale), Flowers for Charlie (Rose Sour), and Deadman's Hand (Doppelbock). All three were good beers. I would order them again in a heartbeat. I hope they continue the good work.

I am doing something that is rarely done on these boards. After my visit tonight, I must admit I was wrong.

If you are ever in Temple try our brewery...Bold Republic Brewing on West Adams...actually just across the street from the large Vista church...who supports our brewery! Our kitchen is great also! Closed on Monday. Today at 3:30 Gov Abbott is visiting. Seriously! Most craft breweries work with each other, and we have had joint ventures with Southern Roots..
