I knew the owner in I think the late '80's. She sold it with owner financing. She got perturbed when the new owners started sharing "trade secrets" with the Heitmillers as they prepared to open. That's why they are so much alike.

As many know here, KK and Donna operated Heitmiller's with great love and passion for years. Dale, their son, was a master in the kitchen.cowboycwr said:
So true. It has never been the same after the move for some reason.
And as much as the new location is different (I say new like it hasn't been 15-20 years since they moved to that location) the second location was even further away (as in different) then the original location.
Plus it was in a tough to get to spot in the Legends crossing before all the other restaurants went in there making it a go to dining spot. Which is why it closed about 9 or 10 years ago.
