Just re-opened this spring i think; had been closed because of the drought the previous year.

Went the first time in the 60s when I was a Midway Panther. Lots of fun....at least it used to be.

Yes it's cool. You should for sure go.

Worth the drive.

PS. Drive the speed limit in McGregor, especially when you make the turn toward Crawford. Watch the signs closely.

Just don't go through McGregor. Take the back way, or take 185 from 6.

FYI, not Waco, but this is the coolest "natural waterside" I've ever been to. Talk about "worth the drive"

Tonkawa Falls is a great spot. It's functionality as a swimming hole can depend on water flow and overall water situation.

Was there about a month ago. It was "perfect". But I'd check out the FB page for up to date water level info. It's common for it to close down late July/August.

Oh, and, before you go, observe all their ordinances. They have apparently cracked down on coolers and alcohol according to the FB page.

The creek is only about 6 ft deep, so be careful about hitting the bottom when you jump off the rocks.
