Trying to figure out how a player with a jumper and the ability to hit 3s is an abomination from the FT line... Sochan is hitting 56%. He needs to put a cap on those TOs too... So many since he came back. Against Bama I think he had 3 traveling calls.

How bad was Shaq at his worst?

This team is going to struggle for a win the rest of the year. I really thought they could do better tonight.

Are you talking about us??? Or WV???

WOW.

It wasn't pretty and it shouldn't have been with 2 of the 3 leading scorers out, but chalk up another WIN for the Bears.

I'm watching a team without our two best outside shooters. Are they out the rest of the season?

Started 3-16 from three… ended 8-22. 5-6 down the stretch.

Man was that a loooong game to have not gone into overtime.

Happy with the ugly win. I sure thought it was going to be a loss for most of it.

Hundreds of free throws for the entire team…. Under pressure. No damned excuse.

I would have them watch Dirk free throws until they puke.

I think we all need to acknowledge something tonight. We were on the good end of a Huggin's Crew.

Gutsy win tonight!

This may be how the rest of the season will look. No blow outs, take it down to wire. A team back to full health, could be opposite finish. Just see us cobble together wins somehow.

Had a generational team last year. This year has had some growing pains for sure. Still capable of a final four run though.

Definitely. Also….last year's team had the benefit of basically being a "year two" team as we brought back pretty much the same team we had that played almost a full season before the shut down in 2020.

This team has several new key pieces that are still growing and learning together. With Drew and his staff I would expect to see steady improvement and growth until tourney time

I'd rather rest them if they're not 100% honestly. Rest em until next Wednesday at KSU. Gives Cryer a good 12 days rest and Flag 10

Anyone also see WV fans absolutely losing their s*** over The Sochan-Taz incident? Everywhere I look on social media they're there, talking about protesting this game and the refs

Huggins went on a post game tirade saying the way we get rebounds is illegal under basketball rules but the refs won't call it. Also went on and on about the Sherman/Sochan incident saying it was the most blatant foul he'd ever seen and wondering how a player can be on the floor with a concussion (his words) and play isn't stopped.

When was that? I didn't notice anything until later when Sherman never came back in. It wasn't like the KSt guy they had to carry through the crowd to the locker room last week.

I watched the Spanish version because it's free ... and I don't know Spanish. I saw the "incident" but what is the angst about? Clearly the dude put his face down into his hand ;-)

Watched the Sherman replay again. I didn't see a foul or anything blatant. He leaned down and hit Sochan's hand. It really didn't look like he hit him hard at all. I'm surprised he left after that hit. But, I'm glad he didn't play the last 2 minutes. We couldn't stop him tonight.
DanaDane

I'm still not sure how Huggins could have seen it. It was on the opposite side of the floor from him and Sherman was driving with the ball in a direction away from Huggins. I didn't hear the whole interview but he said something about watching something on video, although I'm unsure how he would have done that between the time he came to the lockerroom and the time of the tirade.

Silly. Sochan got away with some contact, but he was in pretty good defensive position and there was certainly nothing flagrant or malicious there. This is just sour grapes.

Only real contact I noticed there was Sherman hitting Sochan in the cojones with his lead hand.

It's weird because I thought he originally went down because it look like he slipped or hyper-extended his knee when cutting. I had no idea there was any contact near the head. Still puzzled how that could have related in a "concussion" (once again, those were Huggins words).

Screw Huggins. There was nothing there. His teams have been muggers for decades. Screw that fat sh…..

He's worried about us? That's basically Gabe Osabuohein's entire game on this team and was Oscar Tscheibwe and Derrick Culver's entire games when they played for Huggins.

Here's a better shot of it. Sochan definitely made contact, but it was pretty clearly inadvertent. And Sherman leans hard into Sochan because he's in solid position and moving his feet.

BaylorJoy
How long do you want to ignore this user?
There's definitely contact. Looks like his right hand is making a play toward the ball and makes contact with Sherman's face while doing so. The fact that people think he was intentionally "punching" or "trying to knock him out" is insane.
DanaDane

How do you watch that and call it a PUNCH?

If you're a dishonest person looking to get some WVU love. Clearly not a punch. Clearly not intentional when watched in real time. And he intentionally ran right into Sochan pretty hard while Sochan's trying to make a play for the ball. Could have been called for a foul, but I certainly don't see anything intentional.

As for WVU and MM, they started off blatantly pushing MM when he'd drive to the basket. They played physical ball and BU returned the effort, but I didn't see either team intentionally hurt anyone .

Looks to me more like Sherman ran into Sochan's arm. Calling it a "punch" is absurd. Isn't a punch done with a fist & not part of the arm?
