Not saying anyone's wrong or right but a lot of you are jumping the gun saying he's out a full 2 years. Now that may end being the case but the recovery time from ACL, PCL, MCL tears is rapidly decreasing. Today's athletes like I mentioned recover much much faster. Worked with a football player here at ISU that recovered and was back on the field in 6 months. His injury is more significant because he tore multiple ligaments but ruling him out until 2023-2024 this early on is just silly. Especially consider that he's an elite level athlete
Thanks for the info.

I am not an orthopedic surgeon, but I am a sports fan. A sports message board was created for speculation.

No one is saying he is out a full 2 years. One calendar from today would be February of next season. Any logical person would think it would be highly unrealistic for him to recover from multiple torn knee ligaments and compete in an extremely phyical college basketball league within one calendar year. Even a clean ACL tear usually requires several months of rehab and then ramping up to basketball activities before competing at the highest levels of athletic competition. If he made it back for the beginning of the 2023 - 2024 season (best case scenario IMO), we are looking at around 18 months, not 2 years.

So basically, you don't know ***** So quit acting like you do...or at least qualify your statements, as IANAD.

Providing medical speculation is kind of out of bounds on a sports fan message board, especially if you aren't in the medical field. It's falls under the same category as providing investment advice about cryptocurrency, when you know jack**** about investing.

I can talk crypto too. It crashed and I bought the dip. Fingers crossed.

Calling something "investing" when it is clearly speculation is interesting. Like if I said I was "investing" in a 12-team parlay this weekend. But this is very off-topic.

Hope we get Cryer back soon. We need bodies to share some minutes.

Stay away from 12 game parlays! Always go with the 8 game parlays

Baylor's L.J. Cryer (foot) is a game-time decision for today's game against Texas Tech, per Scott Drew. Averages 13.9 PPG. Hasn't played since 1/25.

Texas Tech's Kevin McCullar (ankle) is a game-time decision for tonight's game against Baylor, per a school spokesman.

Averages 10.8 PPG, 5.3 RPG, and 3.2 APG.

We've gotta get healthy before the tournament.

With Cryer back on the court (albeit in a limited capacity), we're about as healthy as we're going to get the rest of the way. Our offense will improve as LJ is able to play more minutes, but we're going to have to figure out a way to defend good teams with what we've got. What we saw at Kansas and in the second half against Tech will get is run out of the gym by any team we'd face in the second weekend of the tournament on.

What we saw in the 2nd half vs Tech and all of KU will get us sent home day 1….

Doubtful. We'll likely overwhelm whoever we play in the first round athletically as we have most of the lesser Big 12 teams this year.

You have to be able to match up talent-wise with us to exploit this team's biggest weaknesses.

Outside of the Oklahoma State game, which featured one of the worst offensive halves of the post-turnaround Scott Drew era, we've done a pretty good job of handling teams we should -- even while shorthanded.

Day 1 we won't be playing the caliber of team that KU and Tech are. Upsets obviously happen, and they've happened to us, but you're implying that our performance in those games was solely on us and nothing to do with the other teams, who are damn good.

If we get a 14 seed on day 1, we've got the talent and experience to take care of business.

Anyone know the status of Cryer or Flagler for tonight? Can't find anything from my usual sources.

If CSD were like most other coaches, at whatever level, those players who've been recuperating from injuries would already have been playing. The difference is that he loves his players as people and is thinking about their future, which keeps him from using them merely as a means to an end or for self-aggrandizement. Other teams could be so fortunate.

I don't know about "most other coaches." There are coaches like that, but I think there are more coaches who also care about their players.

Does anyone know what Cryer injured? It must be severe. This team is tough. They don't play pretty BBall, but they work their tails off. I'm not surprised we came back and beat OSU. Great win.

It is my understanding that the screw in Cryer's foot is causing pain. I believe it is a matter of pain tolerance.

CSD's comment about having a "plan" for LJ by next week is concerning. Almost sounds like they are considering another procedure.

Speculation.

I don't have any sort of inside information, but I'm not optimistic. If they're reassessing this late, it's likely his time as an on-court contributor for this year's team is over.

It's all on God. God performed a miracle & Jonathan's amazing recovery, still in progress, is the proof. He shows what faith & hard work can accomplish.
