I've been saying this for a long time. Dale Bonner is the best defensive and passing guard on this team. He was last year, too.
Best passing guard? Keyonte says hi.
George is a really good passer, too. I think Bonner is a little ahead of him at this stage. For a guy playing primarily off the ball, Dale's assist numbers are ridiculous this season and they've been really good throughout his career. And like Keyonte, he creates for teammates without turning the ball over much at all.

It's the opposite. We couldn't know for sure prior to real competition but George is a much better passer and playmaker than Bonner. A clear level above

The box score says Keyonte 5 turnovers but at least 2 of them were due to passes bouncing off hands due to not anticipating his passes. Keyonte threads needles and the ball comes with VELOCITY. We need to set up jugs machines to work on hands.

George had a pretty disastrous game tonight. He had a 2-to-5 assist to turnover ratio and shot 35 percent from the field. We're not going to win many good teams against good teams with him playing like that.

Bonner had a poor night, too, obviously. But we don't lean on Dale nearly as much as we do Keyonte.

If you think George had a disastorous game, I don't think you were watching the same game I was. This was his first true college game and it only took him about a half to adjust to the defensive intensity Virginia threw at him. He almost single-handely led us to a comeback down the stretch, against a final 4 quality opponent. Many of his shots were of the highly contested variety against one of the top defensive teams we will face this season. At least 2 of his turnovers were due to our guys not having their hands ready. Can't always just look at a box score because stats don't always tell the whole story.

This is a poor take. George was about the only dog we had on the team last night in the final 10 minutes. The entire team shat the bed coming out of the locker room at halftime, and George nearly singlehandedly led us back.

If you're going to continue to double down on something that is obvious that is fine. Again George is a much better passer than Bonner. It isn't even close. After this game we still have questions about Bonner's offense against high level competition. Think he'll be fine but its still an open question.

Yes, considering we leaned on a guy to get us back in the game who has only played 3 times.. Two of the "turnovers" were clumsy teammates on excellent passes. One other was a careless holding of the ball in the first half.. freshman error against the first good college team he's played. Completely expected and fine.

It doesn't make sense for anyone who watched the game. He was excellent in the 2nd half. In the first half he did force some things but had two turnovers attributed to him that were mistakes by other players.

And we will probably have a few more turnovers as George looks to force the issue a bit. Our other guards still can't consistently break down an aggressive defense at this point off the dribble. Hope it improves. And to be clear, no knock on Cryer as he played very solid for his role.

George has the handle and first step to carve up college defenses as we saw in the second half. Also has very good instinct and vision. Should start to run primary action through him for stints of games against aggressive D's. Flagler and Cryer could have a field day.

Exactly right. And the third was a careless play holding the ball out a little out in front of him during the first half. Completely expected from a freshman against his first good college competition.

One of George's turnovers was also a questionable charge call after he had scored and then stolen the inbounds pass. So, holding that one against him seems a little silly.

To improve his assist-to-turnover ratio to 24-to-5 on the year and 71-to-29 for his Baylor career.

Flagler and Bonner have dramatically improved their PG skills. Their improvement started toward the end of last season, but accelerated during the offseason. Along with Keyonte, having 3 guys who can play PG at any given time gives our offense so much more versatility relative to last year when Akinjo was our one ball-dominant PG.

Bonner's improvement in ball skills has been noticeable. Just needs to prove it against good competition. He looks very good against the lower level D1 teams consistently. Think he will turn the corner against good opponents pretty soon.

He played a good game against UCLA. He's been good in every game this season except for Virginia. And everyone was bad in that one.

He just needs to prove it against high level competition. Not a knock, just the reality. He was okay against UCLA. He didn't look overmatched which is an improvement. Played within himself which is what is needed.

Based on the skill improvement and what looks to be improvement with strength and conditioning at the high D1 level.. odds are he gets there soon.

He really doesn't have to be a scorer because we have plenty of those but assists and defense is what keeps him on the court so much. He is a quiet leader out there and gets guys involved.

Tiny sample size, but he looks much better from downtown. Last year he shot a horrific 19% but this season he has hit 5 out of 10 attempts. He will get plenty of open looks playing with these guards, so if he keeps hitting effeciently from downtown he will be even more valuable for us.
