While smaller than the real Magic Johnson, KG is taller than the actor Quincy Isaiah who plays Magic Johnson on the HBO Series

I know & I was playing along for awhile.

To be honest, I had to look up the dates for Naismith. Just because I'm a historian doesn't mean I'm a walking encyclopedia.

I would like to revisit this topic. Twice last night (I was sleeping when it occurred live) Keyonte George made such a pure pass to Flo Thamba that Flo was able to attack the rim and look like a fluid skilled offensive player. Thamba has played with multiple NBA and future NBA players and none of them have been able to do that, except for George.

This kid is special and if he stays healthy he will probably one day be an NBA MVP.

Yes let's revisit your idiotic take that George is the next Magic. A top 5 player all time. Let me guess 82. Our entire starting 5 is going in the lottery?

Keyonte George the next Magic Johnson...this is just as nuts as the statement that our guards are better than the national championship guards.

Nothing will top his "Matt Mayer is a guaranteed 1st rounder" we're on year 3 of that prediction by 82

It's silly. Keyonte is good now and will likely be great at some point in the future.

The odds of him being an all-time great like Magic are very, very low.

Curious how many of you remember Magic in college? He basically looked like Magic Johnson, but playing against college kids.

Carmelo did not go straight to the Pros.

Johnson was a 6'11" point guard. He could play all 5 positions and man, could he pass. I think the world of Keyonte George but he is no Magic Johnson.

I believe that Magic Johnson would have been there with Lebron and Jordan had he not contracted AIDS.

Two Points:

First, the focus is on Keyonte's passing ability and not on his height.

Second, Johnson could not play center despite the media hyped myth. He jumped the tip in the clinching game and had a fantastic game. But he never guarded Philadelphia's centers. The bulk of that responsibility went to Jim Chones. I know because I watched the game in real time.

Not sure how old you are, but I watched plenty of his games. He was excellent at posting players up - centers too. He didn't play with his back to the basketball but he was a nightmare matchup with a center. No way someone puts a center on him (especially back then) as he would have gone around him.

Imagine a 6'11" guard defended by a 6'3" guard. Johnson was quick enough to get around people, shoot over people and was a better passer than anyone other than Pete Maravich I have ever seen. No way Johnson was as good a passer as Pistol Pete. No one was.

All this to say, Keonte is a great passer and unique. I wasn't trying to argue but I have seen both play in person. I think Keonte is a gifted passer but not yet what Johnson was.

I didn't say he couldn't score on Centers, I said he couldn't guard them.

The Magic you remember improved a lot from the time he was a freshman. And he was a terrific freshman. Remember he went to the NBA after his sophomore season.

Our offense primarily runs through Flagler. And Johnson was always surrounded by better finishers than Keyonte is surrounded by. He may never become as good as Magic Johnson was, but I see the flashes and the potential.

So would you predict KG is going to pull a Carmelo Anthony and carry us to a title this year? You seem historically high on him.

I am sky high on him. But no one player can carry a team to the Title. He does have help, and hindrances.
