This is why we should all revel in KU losses, including football. Simp fanbase, I love when they lose. Sound like middle school kids whining about referees. Love it.

Never celebrate their accomplishments as a conference peer.

Baylor gets all the calls

Been that way for generations personally I'm tired of it.

Meh, this is what frustrated fans do. No different than our fans. Seemed to me that the refs started calling a lot mystery fouls on Baylor once informed of the discrepancy (probably when Self got T'd up)

Team Fouls:
KU 21
BU 16

Subtract out the three fouls KU had in the last 1:30 to stop the clock and the fouls are 18-16. Unbelievable that KU fans would cry about foul disparity.

Agreed. It's also about the timing of the fouls. Regardless, Bear fans better prepare for the return trip to Lawrence...it will not be pretty.

KU could lose this Saturday and next Tuesday...OUCH. This league is stacked.

Agreed, Just going off memory, it seemed like the refs let both teams play at the start, very few fouls called and play was pretty physical. Then most of the fouls went against KU then that swung the other way with most of the calls going against Baylor. Of course KU fans are conveniently forgetting about the latter.

Maybe they think they were entitled to 50 free throws a game.

Huggy Bear is not crying for KU. Fouls: 26 to 14, FTs: 2 vs, 35

That's the first game that came to mind when thinking about foul disparity and KU - there are plenty other examples over the last 20 years of the Bill Self era

Well there was a blatant foul when McKellar full body bumped Adam in the middle of his shot when he came in for the double team, Adam fell down right in front of the ref line of sight. The foul on Langston under the basket in for the rebound, Jay Bilas even said something to the effect "they called that boxing out in my day". All in all they let them play, but there was a silly foul on a hand check with Bridges at the top of the key, wasn't consistent with what they had been calling all game. In other words I don't think I remember one really bad miss on the Jayhawks part. There was one tipped ball out of bounds that I think went our way, but the replay didn't show conclusive evidence, and they couldn't reverse it anyways. Higgins wasn't there, hence our win. Was telling a buddy this, you have to be up by 5-6 against Kansas towards the end of the game to completely take it out of the officials hands. I have seen too many examples, especially in Lawerence, where the officials have given the Hawks new life under the 2-3 minute mark.

And our fans will be acting the exact same way when we go to Lawrence.

Unless the conference admits an officiating mishap or the NCAA changes the rule book due to how one team lost(Tennessee v UNC Music City Bowl) it's just fans being fans. And even the conference or NCAA admits a mistake it's still a loss on the record books

I was fortunate enough to be at the game and was interesting to see how the coaches influenced the refs. First half I thought KU got the better end of the ref deal. Drew was chewing on the refs pretty hard and he was justified but the refs weren't having it.

Then Bill Self pissed the refs off and we definitely got the better end of the second half. I honestly think the refs were angry at Billy and let emotions influence their calls. It was interesting. There was a noticeable difference to me. Knowing the history of KU getting preferential treatment down the stretch I couldn't believe it.

Really hilarious to read KU fans of all people complaining about getting screwed by the refs - as if it's not a common occurrence for their team to get bailed out by the refs - especially at Phog Allen.

That in itself says something: one has to go back 5 years to see foul disparity between Baylor & Kansas. The last 5 years have seen Baylor MBB at its best. And there is your answer: we now have a better team than we've had in the past (& we have had done very good ones) and Kansas fans are not used to the games being more evenly matched or, in some cases, then being the underdog. Get used to it.

Like when Texas fans complain about football officials.
