Who comes out on top this year? Does the Big 12 come out looking like the best league? I feel like struggling OU and WV have a shot to show the depth of our league simply by hanging around. Some solid matchups and some meh matchups. Fun sporting Saturday.

Auburn v West Virginia
Alabama v OU
Iowa St v Mizzou
Tech v LSU
TCU v Miss St
Kansas v UK
Ole Miss v OSU
Florida v KSU
Tennessee v Texas
Baylor v Arkansas

SEC favored: Auburn, Bama (big)

B12 favored: IowaSt, BU, TCU, KSt

Tossups: UT/ut, Tech/LSU, Ole Miss/OkSt, KU/UK in the battle of the ******bag fan bases.

All of them are winnable for the Big 12. Ironically, I think the traitors are the ones most likely to fall. That would not bother me so much. The conference will probably lose at least 2-3 games.

We've done piss poor as a conference the last 2-3 years in the B12/SEC challenge. If your expecting the B12 to go 8-2 you're going to be really dissatisfied

I said "at least". I'm fully aware of our record in recent years. I know the Big 12 CAN win 7-8 of them, I never said that I expected we would. We will probably be lucky to reach .500. However, this is undeniably the toughest conference. Some of those games may seem like mid season breaks compared to the grind of the Big 12. It's a little like SEC football playing cupcakes in November. And no, I did not say the SEC teams are cupcakes.

Doubt it'll feel like a break. SEC has plenty of talented basketball teams… Bama, Tenn, Kentucky, Arky, Auburn are all ridiculously talented. Mizzou and Miss St are capable of stealing wins too.

So creative with the Kansas vs. Kentucky matchup.

Not sure if you watched the ISU KSU game last night, but they had a good point. ESPN really needs to flex these games. There are some terrible matchups that could be fixed by moving some teams around.

Bama Ou; KSU Florida - no thanks
Bama KSU; OU Florida - much better

Well, that's the money shot so ...

Mizzou would be the only other logical choice, and pretty sure Mizzou said no thanks. Their program has regressed a lot since the Norm Stewart days when KS MO was awesome.

Mizzou already played KU in December. Lost by 28.

I was thinking that game was in the 21-22 season, but that's right. Example of why Mizzou probably doesn't want to play KS anymore than they have to.

Auburn v West Virginia
Alabama v OU
Iowa St v Mizzou
Tech v LSU
TCU v Miss St
Kansas v UK
Ole Miss v OSU
Florida v KSU
Tennessee v Texas
Baylor v Arkansas
Mismatches (based on conference record):

7-0 Bama v 2-6 OU
6-1 Auburn v 1-6 WV
5-3 TCU v 1-6 MissSt

Evenly matched:

6-2 UT v 6-1 Tenn
0-7 Tech v 1-7 LSU
5-3 KU v 5-3 UK

Slightly mismatched:

6-2 KSt v 4-3 Fla
6-2 IowaSt v 4-4 Mizzou
5-3 BU v 3-5 Arky
3-5 OkSt v 1-7 Ole Miss

Should give a slight edge to Big12, especially given that the Big12 is much stronger top to bottom, while the SECSECSEC has 3, maybe 4 really good teams and at least 3 if not more that are steaming piles of poo (albeit, SCar and Vandy aren't participating)

And yet, in the NET ratings, Auburn is 27th and WVU is 30th. Shows the relative strength of the Big 12.

(On KenPom, Auburn is 19, WVU is 28, so not a huge disparity there, either.)

Again, I was making a comparison. It "may seem like" a break compared to the Big 12. I even made it clear that the SEC teams are NOT cupcakes. However, their bottom teams are probably more like them than our bottom teams. It's a relative thing.

I am interested to see if there is a difference in officiating. B12 has been a let em play league so far. Not sure about SEC.

Vandy recently beat Arkansas and has had some other conference wins. They have turned it up since conference play began. I believe i heard the other day that Arkansas has one or two key injuries, so hopefully we will cruise.

I looked at a recent NBA mock draft by NBC. Arkansas had 4 first round picks as well as the first pick in the second round. They appear to be loaded with talent but are probably just too young.

Yeah one (Brazile) is out for the year with a torn ACL, and probably the best player (Nick Smith) is out until likely early to mid February if he comes back at all since he's a projected top 10 pick.

Just been a rough time with injuries and a lot of youth this year.

SEC officials as a whole have been god awful this year.

In our (Arkansas) 3 game stretch with Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Missouri there were 155 teams fouls called in those 3 games alone. I hope it's not SEC officials for this matchup.

TCU
Kansas
Oklahoma State
KSU
Tennessee
Baylor

We should be in a good position to take care of business. I also expect K State & TCU to win their games. Other games present some very intriguing matchups, especially Iowa State v Missouri, Tech v LSU, & OSU v Ole Miss. I'm cheering for W Virginia & Tech to win to help them go dancing in March. That's probably a pipe dream.

I think Tennessee & Alabama are the most likely SEC wins but they will probably get a couple more. No doubt Kentucky will try for a repeat & Bill Self will have his team ready. Also, he wants to end their losing streak.

It's mostly guess work but I would be surprised if the Big 12 didn't win at least 6 & I can see us winning 7-8.

5-5. Very rarely does the B12 dominate this matchup

I'll roll the dice and say we go 7-3. Bama cruises, Tennessee pulls away late with some Vescovi sharp shooting, and LSU squeaks it out, but Big 12 lives up to reputation this year

KU vs UK
UT vs UT

Those two will both be really interesting games.

Depending on which Arkansas team shows, our game could be really fun too.

Two are out I think.. one being their best player. But they do have the most talented roster when fully healthy and would probably be a top 5 team in spite of the youth.

Probably one of the reasons we were matched with them otherwise we probably would have redone the Bama pairing had they known how the year would play out since Ku v Uk are pretty much locked in no matter the season results.

I'm surprised we have not played the Aggies the past few years. I'd like another chance to watch one of those games especially since I've seen too few: twice in College Station and both were losses.

Unranked WVU a 5 point favorite over #15 Auburn?
No lines for Florida @ K State?
TCU only a 2 point favorite over MSU?
OSU a huge favorite over Ole Miss?

Am I reading these correctly or has Vegas gone bonkers?
I have not watched any SEC games but these seem to be off.

Auburn got drilled at home by Aggy Wednesday. Very similar to TCU's dismantling of KU.

1. WVU is a much better team than their record, especially at home
2. Last I saw it was KSU -5
3. 2 is small, but it is a road game and gave Bama a scare Wednesday. I would've had them -5
4. I think -9 is a fair spread for OSU and Ole Miss. Ole Miss is just not a quality team
