This team's turnaround has been pretty remarkable.

We couldn't make a stop to save our lives during our 0-3 start to Big 12 play. Since then, we've won two games where we shot under 37 percent from the field.

Scott Drew continues to work miracles for this program. The dude is a legend.

#11 @ #10 - should be a great Big Monday game!

And five of those six wins were against Quad 1 teams. Massively impressive run we're on.

Three on the road. This team is playing legitimately well right now.

I still think it has some shortcomings that will eventually be exploited and limit its ceiling in the tournament. But we're getting very close to maximizing our potential, which is all anyone can ever ask.

We find a way to get a W tonight it really sets us up nicely with 2 home games after which should be W's. Chance to really string a long long win streak together

If we win tonight, we're a game back of Iowa State and Kansas State with the Wildcats playing at Kansas tomorrow and the Cyclones visiting Laurence on Saturday.

We could be tied for first in the Big 12 standings by Saturday night if we take care of business in Austin.

Got a hunch that ISU May trip up tonight in Lubbock. No idea why but it just feels like they'll stub their ties. Think KU beats KSU. Very possible we head into this weekend tied atop the B12. Tall order beating Texas in Austin though

Thought this was interesting - comparing AP to KenPom:

KSU - 7 / 25
KU - 8 / 9
UT - 10 / 10
BU - 11 / 14
ISU - 13 / 17
TCU - 15 / 15

Only KSU is dramatically different

After tonight, we will have played 9 of the other top 15 teams in the country.

Pretty salty resume.

The computers have not been a believer in K-State for some reason. I don't get it.

They played a weak nonconference schedule, but their performance in league play is legit. And their offensive and defensive efficiency numbers are both good at this point.

And we don't have a single loss outside of the AP top-15.

Our losses are to ...

No. 6 Virginia
No. 14 Marquette
No. 13 Iowa State
No. 15 TCU
No. 7 Kansas State

With wins over ...

No. 9 UCLA
No. 12 Gonzaga
No. 8 Kansas
Teams from West Virginia and Arkansas that are currently receiving votes.

KenPom will kill you for weak SoS. Their O and D efficiency numbers are both outside the top 25 and the computer hates both the offenses they've faced as well as their noncon a lot, which is why it expects KSU to return to the mean and fall off heavily over the stretch run. Of course it's just a computer, they have been defied before.

My issue is that K-State has proven in league play to be legit. When your performance continues against improved competition, you should get more credit for it than K-State has gotten from the computers. But it will all come out in the wash.

Kansas loses 3 in a row, 1 badly, 1 to us at 11...

And they go UP to 8?? What am I missing?

KU traded places with UCLA in this week's rankings at #8 and #9. The 23 point loss was already factored into the Week 12 ranking (1/23) when they dropped from #2 to #9. Looks like KU had the better week last week:

KU @ #17 BU 69-75
KU @ Kentucky 77-68

UCLA @ USC 64-77

They're prolly getting a bit more credit for the win at (unranked) Kentucky than they deserve - plus in men's bball KU is kinda like UT in football. Not to the same extreme as unlike UT, KU has obviously had big time demonstrable accomplishments in the last 13-14 years, but similarly the pollsters are eager to always give them the benefit of the doubt and sometimes over rank them based on "tradition".

I can't see a scenario in the world where KSU sweeps KU in a season. If KSU wins, go ahead and give Tang National Coach of the Year award.

This ranking doesn't care about the first 2 losses, only 1-1 this week. Road loss to us and road win at UK.
