This article alone is well worth the $1 per month. Details Flagler's decision to choose Baylor and transition to PG this season.

If memory serves me right it was around this time last year Flag put the Bears on his back and won us a few games almost single handily. Seems to be unfolding again this year with TCUs performance. Perhaps a monster game in the phog is brewing for Flag.

Idk - the guards seem to be rotating who does the heavy lifting. I believe George is up next.

Right now I'm just happy that all of our guards are healthy and EJ is at 75% -80% and improving. Obviously increases the odds that at least one of them will go off for any given game.

Also a healthy Love and an offensively improving Bridges. Those 2 don't need to be scoring 15-20 but if they're a consistent threat for 10 it can relieve some pressure off the 3 guards and slow a double team.

Jakus is an underrated piece of our coaching staff when it comes to connecting with recruits. Really analytical, genuine dude who can talk to you about his family in the same breath that he's breaking down film to show how you fit into the scheme. He'll be a HC somewhere soon if he wants to be.

I get what you're saying about monster individual games last year, and I hope we see a few more down the stretch, but Flagler has had this team on his back all season.

He's missed scoring in double digits just twice in 24 games and one of those was a nine-point effort. And he's done an exceptional job with his transition to the point guard role, posting almost a 3-to-1 assist to turnover ratio.

His percentages and efficiency numbers aren't quite what they were earlier in the year, but he's been a rock for this team all season. I hope Flag has a big tournament and parlays that into a great professional opportunity, be that in the states or overseas. He deserves it for the way he's led this bunch.

You and I have disagreed on one-and-done players and Bonner, but couldn't agree with you more here. We will go as far as Flagler takes us.

I was thinking the same thing as I was reading the article. Tang is / was missed, but all the panic and gnashing of teeth when he left was an affront not only to Drew but also to Jakus and the rest of our staff. The CSD coaching tree isn't and won't be limited solely to Tang.

You nailed it here. Bridgess shooting percentages regressing to career percentages and now hitting the open 3 with the starting unit, in addition to his glue guy / dirty work role has been huge. Love coming off the bench gives us that 4th guard so we can roll with our preferred 3 guard lineup and keep one of Flagler or Key on the floor at all times.

I am very high on Flagler. That said we are capable of winning big games even if he has an off night.

IIRC, we already have won 1-1 of those this season. But we cannot have him with an off night in March. That could be disastrous.

Great thing about Flag is he doesn't need 20 ppg to shine. If he has a monster 5-10 minutes to close out a game like he did recently, that might be enough. He contributes in so many ways.

Great article. It is important for even successful college players to have more than just basketball going on, and it is pretty exciting to see how mindful and enterprising Flagler is. Hope he is super successful no matter what he does. But I do think he can make a few million in the NBA before transitioning to another career.
