The first 5 min of the 2nd half are the most crucial in the game and Baylor has failed miserably. Got to get their mind set back from the first half. No hustle, no mental game and get Thamba out of the game.

I will pay NIL to Flo Thamba to quit the team effective immediately.

That was as pathetic a half of basketball as I've seen during the Scott Drew era.

The team got punched in the nose and folded like a cheap suit.

A 32 point swing?

Wow, it's WAY too late in the season for an implosion like that to happen. Bad sign, usually indicates a serious deficiency in fundamentals. Adjusting post season hopes accordingly.

Honest - when Keyonte showed up the Kansas bench after his monster dunk, I said, "Great, now watch us lose." He's young and he'll learn, but never give a team you're whipping the motivation to give it right back. Hope Drew gave him a talking to.

One Word......."Higgins"....I have never seen a more inept official in my life. Guarantee that crew decided at Halftime to dial it up a notch from their already pathetic first half showing...

Blues Bear, no way. Officials did not make Baylor play like a bunch of choir boys in the second half. No fire. No anger. No guts. No Kansas player on his butt.

I saw multiple examples of guys standing around looking at each other. Keyonte misses a short jumper and just stands there, not getting back on defense.

No technicals. No near fist fights. Passivity.

We got punched in the mouth and cried to mommy.

On target. The only thing worse than losing is losing passively. They didn't even care enough to commit a hard foul.

this was simply an adjustment by Self at half-time to use a half-court press against Baylor. We don't have the ball-handler, penetrators, shot creators except for George. Weave started at half-court instead of the top of the key in second half. We were unable to get to the rim against more athletic KU. That is why Self is the best game coach in the business.

Exactly right Bakersdozen that is the way to defend us, push us as far out as possible to start our 1/2 court set. Pretty much what Marquette did to us.
And just take it to the paint and bring cutters behind the ball is the way to attack us and you don't even need a decent 3 pt game to beat us. By now all of our remaining opponents should know this.

You nailed it. We have an Achilles heel this year.

I didn't see him "showing up the KU bench" after the dunk - but if he did - yeah, bad move. Whether he did or not, what I am really tired of is KG's inconsistent play as far as looking like an unstoppable NBA ready player for stretches of the game and otherwise putting up ill advised shots, turning the ball over, playing lazy defense and virtually disappearing for the rest of the game. I would feel differently if he was a traditional freshman who was going to develop with us and inevitably get better in years to come, but we all know this is the only season he's going to be here. It's getting late in the season for this to just keep happening.

I told my wife before the game that I hope we didn't start the game with how we have done too often in Kansas.......get behind 15 or more points in the first 8 minutes of the game. I was right, just had it happening in the wrong half. KU had a better chance to turn the tide.....halftime. Once a team turns the tide in the second half, it is hard to stop it without that halftime reset.

What was most disheartening wasn't that Kansas made a run and started hitting shots - you knew that was coming eventually. It was our offensive response from what's supposedly the hottest offense in the country. Every offensive possession was an absolute scramble drill for almost the entire second half. Jittery, breakdown offense that ended in ridiculous midrange shots, bad runners, frantic stressed passes, contested 3's, you name it.

Probably the worst half of basketball considering the talent on offer and the stakes at hand since Drew took over. I thought nothing would top the way we played vs. UNC in the first half last year, but this was orders of magnitude worse.

Yeah, it was bad but gotta credit Self for the halftime adjustments. You know other teams will take notes, so we gotta adjust back.

I'm sure the Marquette film is still readily available on the internet..

The difference is there's only a few teams with the talent and coaching to do that to us..Kansas is one of them.

Which is why I can't wait for the tournament and we're not playing these teams that know us so well.

Couldn't agree more. The big 12 is self-cannibalizing in nature and takes a physical and mental toll. No easy games.
