Than that had in the 1st half. Hilarious.

Hopefully this game will be a wake up call for the home stretch of our regular season. I love Scott Drew, but we were simply out coached on this day. A tale of two halves.IowaBear said:
This team is pitiful defensively
I don't think that's our only hope. Our offense gives us a chance against most opponents, even good ones.IowaBear said:
We've been pathetic defensively virtually all season. That's not likely to change. Just have to hope the teams we play in the dance are ice cold from the field

What we have to hope is that we don't have a cold stretch that puts us down double digits because we're not good enough defensively to stack stops.
Jon is a shell of himself on the defensive end right now. He was as bad as Thamba today.Karab said:bear2be2 said:I don't think that's our only hope. Our offense gives us a chance against most opponents, even good ones.IowaBear said:

Statistically, Baylor's defense is so bad it is ~50% worse relative to the competition than the worst national champion in history.
With EJ in full time and not in foul trouble, we have a chance. But a limited minutes EJ returning to form who is foul prone and also baited into fouls, the team can't get it done defensively--not even close. EJ is plugging a big hole in a ship that keeps taking on water.
Did you even watch the second half? That loss had nothing to do with officiating.oldbear69 said:

I had already counted this as a loss before the game and even a blow out inKansad. But when we held a 13 point Lead at the half I started to think we might have a chance. Inexplicable how he fall apart so quickly to start the half the. Lose by 18. This team has some mental issues for sure.
This. My issue isn't that we lost. It's how we lost.Johnny Bear said:Beverly Hills Bear said:

Like everybody, I was pumped with the 13 point lead at halftime, but I also knew the game was a long, long way from over, and as I posted before the start of the second half, the odds were that our guards - talented as they are - wouldn't be able to sustain the near flawless play on the offensive end and we better get scoring help from elsewhere in the 2nd half to be able to hold on for a "W". Among everything else that happened in the disaster that ensued, that of course didn't happen, and the tone was set right off the bat with Bridges missing one of the easiest layup attempts he's ever going to get, and Flo bricking 2 FTs shortly thereafter. And yes, there was also the "Higgins crew factor" that had already established in the first half that we weren't going to be allowed to play aggressive interior defense. I knew we could still very well lose the game at halftime, but the complete meltdown and lack of mental toughness was a still a surprise to me and a huge disappointment.
