Crowd looked and sounded great - and it wasn't because a significant % of it was whorns fans.

I'm uncertain but I believe Baylor is undefeated in games with Dickie V in the house. His first time on campus was last year for the Villanova game & I don't think he has been at any others since.

I don't believe he's done any of our Waco games other than those two. I do recall him working one of our games against KU at the Phog back during the Brady Heslip years when the clown birds drilled us like they normally do in Lawrence.

DV did the game on senior night in the natty season where Teague hit 10 threes against tech.

Was it the loudest game of the year?

Thanks - I'd forgotten about that. I'm probably forgetting some of the other away games of ours he's done, but another one he did that I just recalled was our win in Austin against UT just before we went into that lengthy Covid pause that we ended up having to recover from before starting the Natty run in the Tourney.

That's why we are undefeated in those games! It's an equally meaningless stat due to the small sample size.

Yes but that was the covid year so he was not in Waco. He did that one remotely. I was careful in my phrasing because I remember that game. Besides our guys playing very well (for example, one hustle play by Mark Vital set up one of those 3's). When I watched it live I largely ignored DV because the game itself was so spectacular, especially MaCio. But every time I've watched it since I'm aggravated by his endless chatter about how great the Big 10 was, & players for other teams (Big 20 mostly), etc. I find myself yelling at the TV! It seemed like he didn't even stop to breath. John Sciambi (sp?) had difficulty calling the game, particularly some of those 3's, because of all his prattle.

I had forgotten that one.

I'm glad we have a solid record against Texas over the past few years. Other than this year, I only remember 1 other recent loss.

Someone posted after the KU game that the crowd was inspired. I didn't get that image. They never showed up when needed on D. Yesterday's game was a dream crowd for Baylor fans. They came and they knew when to yell and were loud. It takes UT or aggy to bring that out. That's why regional rivalries are tops. The synergy between the team and the fans was awesome yesterday.

We've had that experience multiple times in recent years: just about every time Kansas or Texas comes to Waco plus recent games vs Butler, Oregon, Alabama, & Nova. I'm speaking from personal experience: I've been to those games, except in 2023.

I texted my buddies who couldn't get tickets with about 5 minutes left in the second half... "this is the loudest I have ever heard the Ferrell Center". Games get hard to gauge over the years, but one of the loudest arenas of any game I remember attending Pro or College.

Crowd was incredible. Knowledgeable. Loud. Really strong.

And there were maybe 500 UT fans at the game. They were a non-issue.
