At Tech for apparently racially insensitive statement.
Texas Tech has suspended men’s basketball coach Mark Adams for comments he made to a player.

The university said Adams cited a Bible verse that included a reference to slaves serving their masters.

One source in the Texas Tech program to @Stadium: “I’d be shocked if Mark Adams coaches another game in Lubbock. Most of the players don’t want to play for him.” https://t.co/v0Ew8Dvkti

So Tech's trying to figure out a way to push him out without paying?

From ESPN:
According to the school, Adams was encouraging a player to be more receptive to coaching and "referenced Bible verses about workers, teachers, parents, and slaves serving their masters." Adams apologized to the team after he found out the player was upset about the use of the Bible verse, a source told ESPN.
High Plains Grifter...might be appropriate considering all the sideshows associated with that program right now.Hotsauce said:
He's done.
The chatter all year was the players hate playing for him, and the Tech BMDs were unhappy after the issues with his dead brother's wife spilled into the locker room.

Just want to clarify my last response..I agree with 100% of your post ..I just think it's poor judgement for Adams to expect his audience to understand or even know about the subtle nuances you made about slavery vs indentured servitude

That Biblical verse is actually one of those invent something to be offended by type things - if you understand the "slave" reference within context. The word that is interpreted as "slave" in this context Is actually a reference to the practice of indentured servitude whereby a person willfully sells his/her labor to a "master" to possibly pay off a debt or for other reasons. In today's world it is much more akin to an employee / boss type relationship than it is comparable to the practice of actual slavery as we know it today and as it was known when historically once legal in America.
But, if it's being used as a reason to get rid of Adams, I'm sure it will continue to be used to ruin him as an "endorser of slavery".
He left TT to take a job at his alma mater and it didn't work out. After 5 minutes of harrumphing, I think they would take him back at TT.whitetrash said:
Chris Beard is available…..

I'd consider spitting on a player worthy of immediate firing.
And yeah I wouldn't be surprised to see Beard resurface there.

When he allegedly spit on a player was he yelling Bob Knight style and spraying it or did he spit on said player like someone in game of thrones during the shame! shame! walk?

Everything may not be about the color of their skin...but as a black man I can definitely tell you things are different...you may think because they're Division 1 athletes they're privileged but most of these guys have come up through a much harder existence than even me...and you..

I didn't realize all those coaches who mysteriously left Tech the last few years were all player abuse cases. Seems like Kirby has a problem on his hands.
