No drama. No huge upset necessary in the Big XII Tourney! No need to hope and pray for someone to lose. We are in. Just depends on how tough our path will be.

I think Coach Drew and our team completely understand win or go home time! Life is good.

My dad has told me often about the team his senior year only winning 5 or 6 total games under Jim Haller. I can't even begin to imagine how bad that would feel. Not sure if I were a student I would even consider going to the games. Most of us younger fans who have largely been around the program during the Drew era have obviously been spoiled compared with what some of you older fans have gone through over the years.

I try to remind myself of that at times when I get frustrated. I'm not always successful at it but trust me, I realize our era was lucky that Scott Drew was hired.

I was in BUGWB during the Dark Ages. There was a basketball band of brass and percussion players, hard to get them all to show up for the games. We would celebrate only losing by 6-8 points.

Scott Drew created the Men's Basketball program as we know it. Dude is legend.

*Note -- there were far less teams in the tourney from 1951 to 1984
(only 16 to 25 teams from 1951-74)
(only 32 teams from 1975-78)
(only 40 to 53 teams from 1979-84)
(64 team field began in 1985)

Yep.. perspective..I suffered through the end of the Haller Reign of Terror..never missed a home game..pick your seat and dust yourself off after..and experienced that glorious Mean Gene Iba year when we finally got our name called for first time in 38 freaking years.

Some here could tell you of their time at Baylor when combining ALL of Baylor's sports you had a good year when we won more than 5 or 6 games total between them. Somewhat of an exaggeration, but not a lot and it certainly seemed like it.

Oh the days of showing up at the H.O.T. with your ID and just walking in and sitting wherever you wanted to. Most games were just picking one opposing player and heckling them throughout the entire game.

Much better fan experience the past 2 decades. And even better to come in the Foster Pavilion.

And if you kept your ID for a few years after graduation, all you had to do was flash it when you got within about 10 feet of the doors of HOT and then keep walking. Never got stopped.

We've been pretty spoiled in general as BU fans - especially over the last 12 years or so. I'm pretty sure a lot of both whorns fans and aggys would kill to have anything even close to our accomplishments in football, men's bball, and women's bball over that same time period (which in most cases their arrogant, haughty attitudes won't allow them to admit).

It's a nice dream but I don't think anyone expects it. I'd be extremely happy with winning 5-6 games, especially if most are in the last good of the month.
