Baylor is 3-2 against teams currently projected to be a 1 or 2 seed.
Baylor is 2-8 against teams currently projected to be a 3, 4, or 5 seed.

Baylor is 17-0 against all teams projected as anything less than a 5 seed.

But some of you talk today about how terrible this team is.

Be honest. When Iowa St went on a 28-10 run after we took a 50-42 lead, you were a little upset?

More than a little.

But I was fan during the Iba years ... I've seen times that we would have loved to be this disappointed after a loss.

Haha ..yeah I remember Iba strolling to mid court to yell at a ref when we were down 20-2 to Arkansas at Reunion Arena at the SWC tournament..damn near took a charge from Todd Day in the middle of a fast break..

Our resume is better than our team this year IMO, if that makes any sense at all.

Our resume is worthy of a two or three seed. But this team on a game-to-game basis is not.

We've proven capable of beating really good teams when we play well. But we haven't proven capable of consistently playing at that a really high level. Our piss-poor defense makes any sort of game-to-game consistency impossible. We're slaves to the matchup every game.

Expectations change, and that's a good thing.

This team, by Drew-era standards, is a really, really frustrating one to follow and watch.

Baylor: rarely plays defense.

If you're talking about this team specifically, I agree. If you're talking about throughout the Drew era, I wouldn't.

Our best zone teams all ranked pretty highly in defensive efficiency and our man teams were great each of the last three years. This one just can't figure things out on that end of the floor.

Lack of defense is this teams undoing just like last year's team....defense wins championships...I think this year's team and last year's team showed that they are capable of playing good defense but it takes an overall team effort and desire to bring good defense consistently.

Last year's team was 13th nationally in defensive efficiency. This team is nothing like last year's on that end of the floor.

This team is damn near unique in the Scott Drew era in its defensive futility. You have to go back to the Jerrells, Dugat, Rogers days to find a Baylor defense that was worse than this one. And they weren't significantly so.

That's not a terrible record but, to be honest, it's not great either. We barely broke even against the best teams & won only 25% games against 3-5 seed teams. It looks like we will be lucky to get a 2 seed. At least all of our losses are against top 30 teams and we have 7 wins against top 32 teams.
