Where are the dipsh*ts that were arguing with me in the other thread trying to proclaim that our defensive issues were just because it was Big 12. We are fine in non-conference.

Yeah, right. Here we are again with another non-conference opponent shooting > 50% (in this case 60%) because they're wide open most of the time.

Crazy to be down to ucsb. Wow.

We need stops.

Can we play zone?? They are taking advantage of our week paint defense.

Do we miss our defense/bigs coach tang?

At some point they will suffer the law pf averages and not shoot so well.

The espn app play by play is ahead of the broadcast by the way.

We switch too much causing mismatches and we rely too much on having help.

Baylor playing competence about right where the regular season left off. This team just doesnt gel. The had a nice run mid conference play but I think that spark is gone. Regardless if they squeeze out a W vs this highly motivated and capable cali team, they arent going anywhere past round 2. Sad

Anyone arguing this defense is anything other than utter garbage is a ****ing moron. There's zero excuse to be this bad defensively

This group is lucky I'm not giving the halftime locker room speech.. Some peoples momma's and their sexual identity would be brought up.

That being said..I think we tighten it up in second half.

I agree. Any more KG does more harm than good. Mostly throws up bricks and is a momentum killer with his TOs & defensive lapses. Needs to sit. Flo has if anything regressed this season which is extremely disappointing. Also needs to sit.

It's been noticeable off and on most of the season. I had hoped we'd come out and put this game away by mid first half. But have to admit, we just aren't a very good team.

Our D struggled even in games against SWAC and MEAC teams we beat. It was obvious then, and certainly the precursor to what we've seen all season.

UCSB shooting 61%. Even against our lousy Defense, it's hard to believe that's going to continue throughout the second half. If it does, we are for sure toast.

I want Dale and Flagler to run our offense the rest of the game. Flagler needs to look for his shot and Dale needs to look for the drive and dish. Those are our best bets offensively.

Our top scorers in first half:

Flagler 9
Lohner 8

Bridges, George & Live each have 4.

Meanwhile, their Mitchell has 6 and they have 4 players who each have 5. That's one reason they have the lead. They are playing better across the board. At least we did have a couple good defensive possessions. They need to do that in every possession for the rest of the tournament.

Keep an eye on Ajay Mitchell, their leading scorer. He's scored almost 70% of his points in the 2nd half this year. If he's on, then Flagler, someone else or a collection of our players will have to stand up and match him offensively.

Just saw the post-game interview with Izzo talking about how he jumped up players' @$$es to play better D and was almost proud of it. Love that!
