Dude is big time
Not as good of a shooter like KG but bigger and can take it to the hole a lot better

He'll probably have better percentages though. Better shot selection and will probably finish better at the rim. KG was a good difficult shot maker but just didn't consistently get efficient easy shots. The points were almost always difficult. Walter will get easier looks. Would not expect sub 40% from the field.

KG was a good shooter? I didn't think so

He could make some wild shots sometimes. But most his drives ended up with a wild flail, him flipping, no call and a runout for the other team usually ending with a layup.

His 3 point % was bad

Walter is a completely different style of player compared to Keyonte.

At the next level, Key is looking more and more like a career NBA 6th man in the mold of a Lou Williams or Jordan Clarkson. That is a fine role to carve out at the next level and will make him millions. Instant offense off the bench and has the PG skills to run the offense in a pinch. In that role, his porous defense and efficiency issues won't be as damaging. Ride the hot hand when he's hot, bench him when he's not. NBA GMs probably see more upside in him as a potential starting PG years down the road if he can tighten up his handle and play more efficiently.

Walter on the other hand is more of a true shooting guard. He will score the rock but is more of a true two-way player because he can defend. He plays hard on both ends of the court, will hustle and get back in transition, and brings competitiveness and mental toughness. I'm excited to see what he can do in a Baylor uniform.

I like Keyonte, but he has always been marginal in shooting accuracy. His shooting stats this year confirmed it, going only 38% from the field and 34% from 3. He was always known as a creator, not a shooter, and that was evident time and time again this year. In fact, as much as I hope he succeeds in the league, he is gonna have a hard time sticking if his shooting accuracy doesn't improve quite a bit.

At the HS level, Walter has been a much more accurate shooter from range than KG was. I have no idea how this translates next year when he's facing a step up in competition though.

I wouldn't say Keynote was a bad shooter just not good enough for his shot selection. I can't find their high school stats. how much better was Walter's 3pt % compared to Keyonte's?

I didn't say he's a bad shooter. He's just marginal. Very average. Always has been. He's always been really good at creating, which led to a lot of his scoring. That's one of the reasons the scouts are so high on him.
