Didn't see a thread discussing the Final Four games, so figured I'd start one.

FAU is looking great after a slow start. This is a really good, complete basketball team.

Higgins calling the game. Our condolences!

Just got in. Missed the first half and first 4 minutes of the 2nd half. Surprised FAU is up by 9.


On Higgins -- As a fan base I know we've had many gripes about the man and in a lot of instances it's felt rightfully so. But I have to give the man credit. He didn't get to the Final Four without being ranked very highly by a significant number of coaches and his grading sheets must be far above the average college ref.

No argument but his history calling BU games, especially against ut and/or KU, his bias is noticeable.

Agree. It definitely feels that way.

Fau looks good in the short time I've watched. But they would be a better matchup for either UConn or Miami. SD St could make the game ugly and physical. While their offense isn't that good I think they have the ability to win a defensive game if they catch a team on an off night. Would not expect it but possible.

Fau is okay defensively but likes to score. UConn and Miami are really really good on offense. If Fau holds on should at least make the game on Monday more entertaining.

Agree with you, Quint. SD State reminds me of a better version of some of Huggins' teams and some Tech teams that used strong, physical guys to much up a game and get you to play at their level. If they were unsuccessful at getting you to fall into their muck-it-up trap, they generally struggled to win.

SDS makes a run.

FAU is doing this today while getting almost nothing from Goldin.

This team is equipped to play against anyone IMO because of its guard play. They put 40 points on SDSU in a half. There aren't many college teams on the planet that could do that.

What a game. I was pulling for FAU, but that was a gutty effort by SDSU.

Those were two really good basketball teams.

That wasn't bad defense under the circumstances. Just a great shot by Butler. That one will be remembered at SDSU -- and FAU -- for a very long time.

What an ending!! The TV folks like drama & they got it in spades.

On another note, I just noticed a commercial with a familiar face & it was Mac McClung, formerly of Tech & more recently winning the NBA dunking contest. Of course he dunked, calling it "Dunking & Dragons". Pretty clever.

So much for that. Great shot to win it. Fau got worked on the boards in the second half.

Our rebounding was not so good this year, although that's usually a Baylor strength. SDSU proved how important it is.

UConn with 9-0 start. I don't know how they compare to our natty team but that was the score vs Gonzaga to start. I think our guys played significantly better in the first 5 minutes of that game.

UConn is pretty dominant so far.

I watch Sanogo play and I can't help but see Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua, if not for the knee injury.

Miami already has 6 offensive rebounds.

Never mind what I said about UConn dominating. Miami playing better now & even tied it up for a moment. Thus is going to be a fun game!

UConn has no pg which is their main weakness. Guy can't handle the ball. With their point forward in foul trouble they won't be able to pull away

We did that a lot this year. So did our 21 team but turbo elite D made up for it

I don't think we had nearly as many scoring droughts or as long lasting in 2021 as we did this year.

UConn back to being dominant

Uconn doing this with their 2nd and 3rd best players nonexistent in the first half. Poor man's Ray Allen (Hawkins) looks affected by the sickness and their wing has sat the entire half in early foul trouble. They are the only team all year that looked like a balanced, complete team at their best.

Nobody knows what's gonna happen in this game (or second half now).

18 point deficit is pretty hard to overcome especially considering his well UConn is shooting & defending.

Now it's 18 again. I suspect that won't last long.
