Am I being too hypersentive? I take this as our Bears getting knocked a few rungs down the reputation ladder as K State, Texas, KU and UH all got the most prime opponents. Although Creighton would probably be considered that as well since they'll likely be pre-season Top 10 if everyone returns.

Maybe it was at the request of TV execs, who considered KU, KState, UT and UH to be bigger draws?

Marquette gets to host for the 2nd year in a row. Seems a little odd, although since they are already way too early preseason top 5 (including #1 in two polls), maybe someone in the Big 12 office is sticking it to UT by sending them to Wisconsin this time.

I would gladly trade the home game for a trip to Hinkle Fieldhouse @ Butler. Great venue...

Yes I think you are. We didn't have a great run and there is some intrigue with the other teams. Hou isn't a draw but they are new and came up their best regular season in generations so makes an "interesting" deal.

Had we rolled last year we probably get Xavier or Villanova so maybe some truth to it but it was always variable. Personally think Bu v Nova should be standard like Ku v UConn will be. If what you say is partly true, guess we'll have to run Hou off the court a few more times to make it clear it's still Ku or us.

We switched out with Tex or Tech most years anyway. Ku v top dog was always pretty standard so they would always get UConn. The others depended on current status. Tex v Tenn had natural built in implications too as does Marquette v Texas. If we hadn't been run off the court v Marquette last year and Shaka playing Tex wasn't so obvious we probably get Marquette.

Yeah, I kinda agree. Still, it bothers me because it just feels like we missed on the name recognition window of opportunity that the Natty opened up. Instead of following it up with a couple of Sweet 16's or maybe even an Elite 8, we went thud with back to back 1st weekend exits.

Oh well, I'm with you. I was really hoping a Baylor-Villanova thing would catch on and be a regular battle.

I think of Seton Hall as a pretty big name in College Basketball. It will be great to be able to host them.

We definitely did. We haven't cemented our standing yet. One more big run should do it but it hasn't happened which is why most here are disappointed in a potential retooling set up year without great transfers or a crazy Flagler surprise return . To be fair 2022 was a perfect negative storm. They set it up for success and it just didn't happen (post season)

Need to pick it up so recruiting continues. Right now once Tex is out we are the clear top recruiting program over the last few years and definitely next year .

Would think Ku will pick back up and with two more program coaches in conference the comp is going to get very intense in the region. They probably won't be able to pull nationally like we have but will have that much more conference comp for Tx kids.

And we gave memories of great recent wins there!
However, this season it will be a home game since last year was a road game.
