I still haven't seen any highlights of this kid playing against decent competition. The one video collage I have seen he appeared to playing against a Jv level team with a bunch of sub par talent. I am sure his ranking is warranted, but watching him dunk over a 6'2 pudgy white kid or standing in one spot draining threes give me zero feel for how good this kid will be in the Big 12. Anybody have more details? I know his reclassification is a big topic, but I haven't seen anything that makes me thinks he starts next year.

Yeah, that video pretty much shows nothing except it's no surprise he is working on corner 3s since all NBA bigs are adding that to their game if they don't have it already. I get he might no be fully ready for the rigors of big 12 play if he reclassifies but in a way I almost prefer he reclassify to this year it might increase our chances of getting 2 years out of him instead of an almost certain one and done if he waits an extra year.

A big who can hit 3s is impressive, but how is he as a low post scoring threat? I've almost forgotten what it's like to have a consistent back to the basket inside scoring threat type that even the higher end opponents have to account for.

Yeah, based on his frame and what little video I have seen, he won't be a low post scoring threat. Which makes sense because our offense doesn't revolve around post scoring. To me Missi looks like a stretch 5 which is what is coveted at the next level. Even great low post scorers at the college level are dinosaurs in the modern NBA unless they are mobile rim protectors and can hit 3s. Someone like Drew Timme has no shot making money playing basketball except overseas.

And yet, the best player in this year's tournament was Adema Sanogo, who will likely never amount to much in the NBA.

I'd rather recruit for the college game personally. You don't get any extra wins added to your total for sending guys to the league.

That's not to say I don't want Missi. But we need certain things from our post players that won't necessarily help his draft stock. I hope he's prepared to provide those at a high level.

Do a search in you tube of Prolific Prep games and you will see more of where he is at as a player. Check out Img vs PP from 8 days ago

When is the expected announce date on whether he reclasses or not? I've already noticed several of the Top 100 guys announce reclassing over the past couple of weeks.

I dunno, I easily envision Missi seamlessly fitting into our system as a pick and roll big.

I personally hope he doesn't. I don't want three freshmen and Grimes getting extensive playing time next year. I think it would be better if those guys were staggered and we infused some experience through the portal.

WOW!

If he's got the talent to go with those stats & can play well at the D1 level, he will be fun to watch.

He's clearly got talent. Talent is never the issue with these guys. Competitive and emotional maturity is.

"These guys" are all different individuals. I don't know Missi to be able to judge his maturity. Do you?

My point about the talent was how well that would translate against elite D1 competition. Clearly the coaches think that he will be able to do that or they would not have recruited him. Hopefully he will be another Jeremy Sochan, except he will stick around 2-3 years.

I'm speaking in generalities. No one is attacking Missi personally, school marm.

As a general rule, freshmen -- even supremely talented ones -- are immature players compared to the grown men they suddenly find themselves competing against.

And if Missi reclassifies, he'll essentially be a high school senior playing high major basketball next season.

Jeremy Sochan was Jeremy Sochan because he came to Baylor with experience most freshmen don't have, having competed internationally against men. The book on him coming in was that he was an extremely mature, polished player. And it helped that he didn't come out of the American high school/AAU system, where hangers-on were gassing him up for years and years about being the next great NBA star.

That's very important: Sochan's experience is probably the main reason he was do good at Baylor & a first rounder. It also separates him from KB. We will see about Keyonte George.

Thanks for admitting you were speaking in generalities since you don't know Missi nor his maturity level.
And what do you mean by " school marm" ? It feels beneath you to resort to name-calling.
