Going to guess that is mostly beating other ranked B10 teams. Certainly isn't tournament wins.

I was going strictly by the numbers: each conference has 7 teams on this list. They have 3 of the top 5 while we have 3 of the top 6, a slight edge. But we have 2 natty's & 4 Final Four appearances.

If you take into account strength of schedule, the Big 12 definitely has the edge despite the disappointing tournament results this year. The Big 12 is still the strongest conference in the country.
