Baylor is better at basketball, but it is definitely a football-first school. There isn't a school in Texas -- and likely never will be -- that prioritizes basketball over football.

Don't post that list at WVU's fan site. They consider themselves to be a football blueblood in their own minds.

Just my two cents:
Baylor pre Mulkey leaving: W. Basketball
Oklahoma: Softball
Texas: W. Volleyball
TCU: Baseball

If you're just putting what we're best at, Baylor's an acrobatics school.

But seriously, we're a football school.

You're not from Texas.

Not even close. Every school in the Big 12 is football first except KU and they would prefer to be.

Every P5 school considers themselves football first.

According to ADMR in an interview with SicEm 365, 85% of the money comes from football.

Duke and KU probably the only exceptions to that.

Probably not by choice, though.

i would only say that we see baylor as a basketball school and that program in a better place to win championships than football.

Kansas St is more of a 'basketball school' than Baylor is.
Baylor is considered a 'football school' by the majority of it's fans, being located in Texas has a lot to do with it.

They still make more money from the conference football TV contract than they do from basketball. They would not accept an invite to join the Big East. They are still football first.

i would venture to say that a poll of college fans across the nation would find the opposite.

Your original question was "do Bear fans consider...Baylor a football or basketball school?" That's how I answered - how Baylor fans see it. You didn't ask/nor do we care how the nation sees it.

Grateful to be great at mens basketball

Angry we are not great in football. We could have been great.

More fans care about football but I for one love both more or less equal.

Texas is more of a swimming and diving school.

Baylor football has been great at times:

2012, 2014, 2019, & 2021 most recently

We would all like to see more consistency in that greatness. However it is amazing that our program has achieved all this under so many different coaches in a relatively short time period & overcoming a major fake scandal in the process.
