As a Spurs fan I would love to see this happen, but was hoping he would be with the Bears for at least two years.

Walter is a 1-and-done all the way, barring a catastrophic injury or something there's no way he's in Waco beyond this season. I think he's going to surprise a lot of people this year.

Oh, for sure. I know it is most likely a one year deal, but always hope we get more time with some of our guys. I assume Little could be in that same boat depending how the year plays out. He obviously has the potential. With so much of the draft being about potential versus results it's likely we could lose Missi as well. I am sure all three of these guys are planning on the NBA in the next couple of years.

Walter has only improved over time. Steady upward trend with an efficient all around game. Projects as a first rounder with a solid season and can work well into the lottery with a really strong year. Should be one of the better defensive freshman players in the country.

Yeah Walter would have to have his talent sucked into a sentient basketball by the Monstars in order to miss the draft next year. Missi seems like more of a project and it's doubtful he gets the usage rate needed to be a draft guy in 2024. As for Little, always more of a gamble with international guys, but Sochan only had six offers and was not on many draft radars before he blew up with us. Little's profile out of Finland is higher than Sochan's was, and our track record with guards is very good so it wouldn't surprise me at all to lose him after a year as well.

Yesss,Walter is a versatile scorer who can create his own shot, finish at the rim, and knock down 3-pointers. He also has good size, length, and athleticism for his position. That is why I am excited also he is definitely one of the candidates to watch.

Sochan was always more of a sure bet than Brown last year in my eyes. I posted after watching Sochan's tape that I was more excited about him due to his established offensive moves than Brown even through the ranking was not there. Admittedly I didn't see Sochan going in the lottery. Little has really advanced skill, not sure how quick he is, but his game is mature based on the video than most high school players. I think the international game is much improved and guys coming over have a better feel for the college game than the high school kids do. Too much AAU ball has killed a lot of the fundamentals. I feel like the international leagues still value that. Excited to see our freshmen class next year, they have as much opportunity to get PT as any class with the Bears as I can remember.

Feom a Baylor fan perspective Jakobe in his one year with us will be much more fun to root for compared to Keyonte. Plays with grit and hunger, wants to be great on both ends of the floor. And Key will make a lot of $$ as an NBA 6th man not a knock on him at all.

I don't know, expectations are already high: CBS is saying he will be a lottery pick. What a season we might have if he exceeds expectations!

Definitely seems like a knock.

Not at all a knock. Key is objectively a very poor defender. But this deficiency won't be as glaring in an NBA sixth man role as a gunner off the bench. And he has upside for more as Utah will see if he can develop PG skills.

Craw was about as high as anyone on KG as was I. It's more just trying to be objective. He was close to turning a corner during that WVU, Tech stretch in conference but then kind of flatlined. Just wasn't a great fit with our small guard filled roster. Key would have looked much better on one of our previous teams with tough defense, great athleticism, and a true PG to set him up.

The D and the spurts of inefficiency even before the injury can't be ignored and not a knock as Im sure he would rather have him than not. Still think upside is big if he can put it together. Just a volatile younger player for now. I see Craw say 6th man which could be perceived that way. I think George could develop into a good starter if focused but a great 6th man isn't a knock.

100%. Clarkson the guy he is replacing is a mulit- millionaire. Clarkson and other 6th men like Lou Williams are millinonares. Not a knock to the contrary

I would point out, the money hasn't likely hit the bank account, but Keyonte's rookie contract compensation will exceed 17mm over 3 years, so Keyone has reached the millionaire status already.

I get it that a lot of fans were frustrated with how the year ended up and George's role in that. Problem with the 22-23 Bears is in part due to the fact you can often hide 1 weak defender if you have 4 that can compensate, but there is no way known to make up for 2 weak defenders, which we were dealing with this past year. Keyonte's mistakes were in part freshman mistakes. Mark this: if you are starting a freshman in the Big 12, I don't care how good he is, there is going to be a point where the competition will burn him.

Another part of George's learning curve is getting better control over his emotions. He has great confidence in his game and his ability to make the shot, which is fine up to a point. When he learns to accept the fact there are going to be nights where the shot isn't there, he will mature into a pro who gives quality minutes at the 1 or 2: he has the skills.
