He shot more 3's, about twice as many per game as in 21-22, and at a pretty decent clip for someone his size. But it took him away from the basket, which to my eyes contributed to his significant drop in contribution around the rim.
His injury obviously contributed to this, but he was not nearly as interested in banging inside, and the majority of his boards (which were down anyway) came off long uncontested rebounds. If you look at his FG% inside 5-7 feet, it dropped dramatically last year because he's just not able to do as much inside to get clean looks and contested offensive put-backs, as you'd expect all things considered.
Considering some of the early concern was just him walking without pain again, it's remarkable he played at all, and I think you can argue pretty strongly his contributions last year were as much for his mental confidence as they were for the on-court contribution. If he can get more comfortable under the basket again this year, he can easily be an 8/6 per night guy again.
