Damn! At least it's not a knee or ankle. Wonder who gave it to him in practice? Assuming that's how it happened.

Clearly those practices are intense!

Too bad he's hurt but I'm very glad that he will still be able to play. The first game is only a few weeks away!

The bad news is that Walter broke his nose in practice.

The good news is that Walter won't miss significant time as a result.

The better news? Langston Love is practicing.

Save those elbows for conference play, Langston!

Obviously injury is not great, but have a feeling this team will be very physical and much improved defensively.

Fairly safe to project that this team won't have any players loafing on D like we had last year (at least a couple of them).

That's for sure. Bigger question is how Cryer looks on defense after an offseason at Houston. Very curious how that will work.

Agreed. Walter, Nunn, and Grimes are all plus individual defenders and will be a massive collective upgrade for our perimeter D. No more layup drills or easy transition buckets for the opposition. If they do happen to penetrate the lane, Missi will be lurking in the paint. Missi will be a massive upgrade over an overweight, lead-footed Flo Thamba and an injured EJ who was playing as a shell of himself. I do think EJ will be closer to his old self this year and Josh O will be a much improved player after an offseason of development. So excited to see what this team can do, on both ends of the floor.

He hit the weight room and transformed his body over the offseason. I will be closely monitoring as well.

His lateral quickness isn't good, lacks size, and not a plus athlete. Strength wasnt a huge need but if he's working hard credit to it.

Didn't seem to get energy from the program so wouldn't be surprised if he gets a second wind being home. I don't put that as an indictment on the staff unless he somehow morphs into a plus defender.. then I'll question.

I know the staff tried their best and CJ himself tried, but he was just naturally a very poor defender. The issue was we couldn't hide him defensively when 2 other guards in the rotation, Key and Love, were equally bad defenders and Flag was merely adequate / average. Houston won't magically transform CJ into an adequate defender but they may be able to hide him better.
