I am very sensitive to financial challenges. I have been there for a lot of my life. I have had to choose between food or a tank of gas between pay checks in the past.

However, if you can do it, $400 for a decent view season tickets to a top 10 NCAA basketball program is very cheap and an incredible value.

Look at Duke. Their arena holds about 9500 (small for a major NCAA program - UNC arena holds 22,000). Our arean holds 7500 (tiny by major NCAA program standards). Duke has an $8000 seat license plus $1000 minimum ticket prices anywhere in the stadium with a waiting list. The cost to buy a single ticket is $150+ minimum for an average game in the upper corners. A UNC ticket is at least $400 in the corners.

We are obviously not Duke just yet but Baylor plays Duke-level basketball with players as good or better.

I get the frustration. I just want those who can make it work without sacrificing significantly to consider the bigger picture. Grab what you can now. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You will have buyers on the resale market if you change your mind.

I hear what you're saying and am a longtime and current season seatholder myself.

Anytime you're decreasing capacity by almost 3000 seats and have the excitement of a brand new building and a quality program, increases are to be expected.

But that $400 entry level is TRIPLING the old rate, with only a small portion available at that rate. Now, you have the jumbo shrimpers diluting that even further by nabbing some of those entry level seats, many for the explicit purpose of reselling them, no doubt.

I'm sure they're setting aside less than 1000 tickets for individual game sales at really jacked up rates. I can see conference games being offered at $100. Maybe more. I'm sure no one cares that much, but just hate that there is absolutely no room for the common man in this new building.

Duke and Baylor are two completely different animals. Duke is located in the second largest metro area of their state, and has been the standard for over three decades.

Yes it is a great value but the comparison to what one pays at Duke has no bearing here. The only comparison that matters to an individual is that I was paying $225 per seat for three seats at center court upper level and I am now going to have to pay more than that for a single like seat in the new arena, if even available when I choose, and will also have to up my BBF contribution just to have that right.
It would also have been helpful to have provided full transparency on ticket prices and BBF seat fees back when folks were renewing so they could have made a good decision on how many seats to keep or if they needed to downsize in order to be able to afford the new seats. I am not in that group but there are folks in shock that now cannot afford all the seats they signed up for and have been told they cannot now reduce. It appears they are now in an all or nothing scenario.

So it's going to be harder for a young local like me to make it to games is what y'all guys are saying ? I haven't looked at the prices but me and my friends kind of figured that it will be harder for us to get tickets

Well it may be harder to get season tickets but you may have a better chance at getting tickets to games during the week. I say that because in the past for the games during the week I could not come down and attend I was donating the tickets to VetTix. However with my costs more than tripling, assuming I get the seats I want, I am more inclined to offer those to the market at a reasonable price of course, in hopes of offsetting some of my increased cost. Feels like I may not be the only one.

This year will be an aberration because the new building will only have just the desirable conference games, plus the non conference game that opens up the building.

The limited number of individual tickets being held back for sale at a later date will be at a premium, but you will always have season seatholders like me who are in DFW who just cannot make it down for every weeknight game.

I plan on posting my seats on the 365 Ticket Swap board first for a reasonable rate, where third party fees are eliminated and everyone wins.

I will be doing the same.

Baylor has made it clear that they only want rich people attending their games live. The vastly increased prices are far beyond my means and I do not expect to see the inside of the Foster Pavilion any time soon, if ever. I was really looking forward to seeing the Kansas game in Waco, a game I have seen for most of the past few years.

My only hope will be the Ticket Swap forum.

I will have 2 tickets and almost always 1 will be available. I don't pick until next Monday but I will have my 2 tickets. My wife has only come to 1 game each of the last 3 seasons so I'm always looking to sell it or give it away for the no name games. I don't want an arm and a leg for my extra and will be happy to sell at an obtainable price when possible. Obviously KU like games will be a premium but I am not 1 to try and sell my ticket with the plan to pay for my entire season via doing so.

Hit me up if you are ever looking for a single!

It's probably too late but Baylor should offer some kind of mini package with non conference games, including a Seton Hall, with some conference games.

Since I have gone to a couple of Baylor games at Kansas I get emails from their athletic department for single game tickets. They went on today for non-conference games and was curious what a single ticket for UConn was going for…$275 a piece for the highest tickets in Allen. All the away games I have gone to are about twice the ticket price in Waco. I know the jump for our new stadium is high, but we are still lower compared to the major programs. Drew has built a winner, so Baylor is going to charge more. We shall see what the demand is post the first year hype, but I hope we can consistently sell out the conference games. It will be a state of the art venue with a great product.

I don't anticipate making a lot of weekday games and will probably be selling those at a reasonable price, if that works for your schedule.

totally agree but those tickets should sell well on the open market for you to recoup some costs to higher profile games. I know it's not the right FAN thing to do but Baylor inability to communicate it's way out of a paper bag will lead to many home games this year with a lot of opposing fans in the mix.

I'm a Arsenal Club level member...I sell my seats to all the high profile games and make enough money to pay for the seats and my flight over the pond to watch 2-3 matches a year. No doubt that folks will do the same with the new arena...
