We'll know once we see a few games. I don't put anything into practice reports and honestly trust my eyes and some on this board way before the site writers, especially when it comes to ball.

Now I do put some stock into other players calling guys by name when asked about work ethic and skill

Don't forget KSU lighting us up or TCU… could keep going. Just an utter sieve defensively last year. Must have rubbed off on the football team

Tcu and Iowa St were some of the worst high major defensive performances I've ever seen. Worst defensive backcourt in all of P5. Only solid defender on the team last year was Bridges
Bridges was not a solid defender. He wasn't close to the 3 forwards we had the year before. Cryer made everyone look special.

Bridges was definitely solid but scrambling drills from all the holes makes everyone look bad. He's an above average defender. Bonner was okay at times.

Just because Bridges wasn't close to an excellent pro level defender in Sochan and big 12 defensive player of the year caliber Jon doesn't mean he wasn't decent.

Bridges wasn't bad at all. The trio of Cryer, George and Flagler were laughably bad defensively. We have posters on here who could manage buckets against that trio

Flag was an average college defender. He wasn't Davion or Butler or Teague, but he wasn't bad.

Bridges is a well above-average defender. NBA 3 and D potential written all over him. Great anticipation and gets a lot of blocks and deflections.

I agree and he just kept getting better throughout the year. Not sure what 82 is seeing. Literally the only plus defender on the roster last year.

Consistently mediocre I would say but yeah not terrible. Just not much explosion and not much length. Positioning and help D was okay just had natural limitations. The rest of the backcourt save Bonner was the Washington Generals.

I think there is a lot of revisionist history In reference to last year's team. We did not have the lock down defense we had the 3 previous years. But we were a 3 seed in the Tournament.

To hear some tell it you'd think we couldn't win a Y League. And George is the worst freshman to play for us in the last 10 years. Pleeeease!

George wasn't a lottery pick but he was a first rounder (#16), which is excellent.

Never said anything about that. It was just a terrible team defensively and a streaky team offensively. Overall not to the standard, solid but frustrating team.

I've always maintained George has big upside. But I think Walter might be the better overall college player in our system with physicality, athleticism, and defensive intensity. Will help he has a true distributing guard playing with him
